I've been after a Zoo Keeper for quite a while, I passed on the only other one I've seen come up this year due to no funds at the time, and my buddy picked it up instead.

I started restoring a converted completely Zoo Keeper back to a ZK recently. After I posted that and started trying to find a board set a member on here said he would part one out if the money was right. I sent him a PM, and asked how much he'd sell the cabinet for outright as it seemed too nice to part out. The amount was reasonable, the only issue was the fact that he was 1,240 miles away in Alabama. I debated a bit, and even inquired about buying all the parts only but in the end it just seemed to make the most sense to make the drive and get the whole cabinet.

I left at midnight Friday and got back home around 10pm Saturday. I don't know how many times I almost fell asleep on the way back.

Someone had built a base out of 2x4's so I spent this morning building a new base properly out of mitered 1x4's. It's the second Taito base I've built within a week.

This cabinet didn't have a chassis, just a G07 tube. I had a G07 chassis here that I bought from a member that was supposed to be rebuilt and tested working. It wasn't.

Thanks to a buddy I was able to get another chassis and after a while of rebuilding and troubleshooting it tonight this thing is working great. I can't wait to get it to the basement.

congrats man and good story, I'm glad you picked up and saved the ZK from being parted out and it looks really nice too.

Wow, you got it?? YOU SUCK! Nice score. I contacted the seller too. I really want a ZK!!!

Nice grab, looks to be in great shape. Congrats!

Nice pick up! It looks to be in great shape. I just wish I had the time to drive that far for games. I'd have so many more than I do now if that was the case. Again, nice score!

I actually thought you may have been one of the people, as he said someone even called from MA. While I'm thinking about it, were you also one of the people who contacted the one on eBay months ago also? That seller said someone from MA had contacted him also.

It would have been mine weeks ago, but his area has huge issues with NAVL, so he wouldn't ship :(

Congrats on the pickup!

I still refuse to ship a game. I can drive across the country for cheaper, and I know the game is in good hands the whole way. Not to mention how much lon

I've always been ready to drive crazy amounts for a game, which has been crucial in some of my pick ups. The furthest I've driven was Minnesota, which was a 38 hour round trip sleep deprivation extravaganza. If I recall correctly, I called the guy on a Wednesday, and we were on the road Friday.

Yeah- that looks way too nice to part out. Good job- nice drive.

How much?

It was 500 plus the drive down. It was missing the monitor chassis like I said, and the tube was untested also as a result. The tube does work, but I may try to rejuv it a bit. No burn though.

I should have mentioned the bezel in the machine isn't the one that was in it. I put the bezel from the ZK project I was working on in as it was nicer. The one in the machine when I got it was doing some weird bubbling and peeling.

Kudos for having the time and patience to head down and pick it up. WOuld have been a real shame to see it parted out.

Nice score. It seems rare to find newer taito games with actual game artwork on the side, seems like they sold alot of conversion kits and not many orig. cabs.

Congrat's on picking up a nice looking ZK, credit to the previous owner too, for the work he done to it, and the more than reasonable price he sold it for.

I still can't believe that this game didn't make it onto the Killer list.

Have you decided what your going to do with the project ZK that you started?

Nice score Warlord. I am so glad you picked that one up instead of it getting parted. That is a really nice looking Zk. I am still looking for the right Taito cab for my multi-taito to go in. Glad you ended up getting the game you wanted. And you sir, are a road warrior.
