Finally got the U3000 into my Pump. Significant improvisation was needed...

I've been making noise about replacing the monitor in my Pump... here's what I came up with. The frame wouldn't physically fit through the front of the cabinet, so I had to take it apart, and then reassemble it while it was inside. I really wish I took more pictures of that process :(

The tube is mounted upside-down on the frame, which is itself upside-down, so the tube is right-side-up relative to the floor. The frame wouldn't fit right-side-up, and it put the tube at the wrong angle anyway. The HV board is just sitting loose underneath the CRT; it's bolted to its metal plate so the bottom won't short out to anything, but there's nothing holding that in place.

If I really wanted to, I could've just put the whole thing in there upside-down and just flipped the yoke connectors to get a right-side-up picture, but I was concerned about hot air getting trapped around the HV board components.

Eventually I'm going to modify the cabinet so this bitch can be mounted properly. Add a metal plate to the top, then drill six holes so I can mount the frame (sans back bars and power supply plate) to the cabinet via the holes already in the frame, adding spacers where necessary to make the bezel fit. Then the tube would mount onto the frame just like Wells intended. As for the boards, move the big resistor and HOT back to the chassis board and add a dedicated heatsink for them; and finally, mount the HV board and power supply on standoffs screwed directly into the floor of the monitor box. About as close as I can get, considering the size difference, to the way the factory monitor was installed.

By "eventually" I mean "next August... probably. If I remember."
