not that i dedicated a lot of time to dk2 but tonight i got passed all the screens in level 1. as rewarding as it was it got a hell of a lot harder on the first screen of level 2. timing! timing! timing!

i took to it right away when i first installed it in my dk cabaret, but was getting my ass kicked on the 175m cement factory screen.well today i passed it and completed the level, but then when it went back to screen 1 level 2 who knew that fireballs fly up out of the pits while you're jumping from beam to beam? hard but still fun! (that's what she said)

Congrats! I just finished LV. 1. :D

Seriously though, stop laughing.

no reason to laugh! i've had friends watch me play that game and still didn't know what the hell was going on! congrats!

Wait til you get to the girder's on level two, once the blue barrel connects with the fire barrel on the bottom fireballs shoot up onto each girder!!!

I about messed myself......:p

The fireballs on the barrel board aren't really too bad, unless the middle one quickly goes up to the top row. Then you have to deal with 2 of them up there, as they never come down once they go up. I always grab the hammer to smash the bottom one first, and hopefully can get the middle one with the top hammer. Also note, the fireballs on the barrel board (and also the mixer, refinery and incinerator boards) won't switch directions unless they come to the end of a beam, so you can easily jump or follow them. Also, if you think the 2nd level foundry is hard with 1 fireball shooting up out of the flames, when you get to level 3, you have to deal with 2 fireballs. That one always nails me for several lives.

I was about to mention this. The game is pretty hard in level 1... it gets freakin' BRUTAL by level 2. The furthest I've ever gotten was Level 2 screen 3... and I've been there a couple dozen times. I sure wish there was a setting somewhere to set it to go right to Level 2 difficulty from the get-go. The problem is that even with 7 men, I only end up having 1 or 2 by the time I get to level 2.

That's exactly how far I have gotten, can't wait to get better and see what other surprises are in store...

I'm an above average DK player (350k-450k) but I'm having a hard time passing level 1 on DKII. I'm almost there (last screen on level 1) but it's hard.

What seems to be hanging you up at?

I can say the being only 180K-200K DK player I don't think it helps me much as the games have such a different "feel" to the overall gameplay.

What works on DK does not neccesarily work on D2K so you have to kind of forget your old habit's and learn new ones with D2K.

Very challenging and yet I would think being a good/great DK player would help alot, but at least to me I do not think it makes me a better D2K player....hope that's not too confusing.....:)
