I just had to secretly snap a pic of this momentous occasion:

I really hope she's finally coming around. She must have played Dig Dug on the 60 in 1 for a half hour or better. She then followed that up with 20 minutes of Ms. Pacman. Fuck yeah. My life has meaning again.

I spray wife-be-gone to keep mine out,not that she likes games or even wants to come in there,Just how i like it.

You mean this is the first time she's played a game? Are you sure we're not married to the same girl?

No not the first time ever, but the first time in years. She used to love them. When I had 2 of them. Now that I have nearly 40 of them, she hates them, hates them all! I just went upstairs, put my hand on my zipper and told her that I wanted to show her something. Of course she followed me with great gusto. Brought her into the Vortex and had the 60 in 1 all fired up and ready. I pulled up a stool, showed her how to select a game from the menu and let her figure it out from there. She got pretty intense while playing Dig Dug, cursing at the game and gnashing her teeth in a blind rage. Music to my ears. BTB, if ANYONE has a nice used Ms. Pac or Pacman joystick for sale, LMK. I have a Bob Robert's Midway microswitch replacement in here and it is too much like me. A bit stiff and hard to bend sideways.

If my wife didn't like games, there's no way I'd have the 4 that I do have taking up our 1 car garage... In fact she was out there playing operation thunderbolt with our son this weekend, too bad no one head-shots a motherfucker like I do :D

Nope, we're definitely not married to the same person. My wife has NEVER played one of my games. Never.

Buy her something she likes. Seriously.

I love to share the same hobbies with my wife. We have a great time together. When it comes to arcade games, she couldn't care less. I bought a Frogger for her but I thuink she has only played iot 2 or 3 times.

She does not mind that I have this hobby, it's just not something she enjoyes the same way I do.

I am okay with that, as she can scrapbook whenever she wants and I don't help her with that, LOL.

Oh, I buy her plenty of things she likes. But it will never cure the pure disdain she has for my games. :)

I've only had a SFII cab for years. My wife always thought it was cool that we had the one, but didn't seem too interested in more and never played what I had. Late last year she found a Skill Crane for cheap and wanted that to justify her having so many stuffed animals. So we picked that up and she loves it - wants to customize it with a custom marquee she designs and all.

Since then I've been "allowed" to pick up another cab (Neo-Geo) and have room for one more. She's totally game and loves how they look when side by side. I guess just having the one by itself was "weird" to her, but having more and more together is much "cooler."

I dunno, but hey, it works in my favor!

Get puzzle bobble.

My wife hated my games when I was spending every spare minute working on them, but since then I have changed how I do everything and done everything I can to get her all set so she can do her hobbies and she comes and plays. She played Buster Bros and Puzzle bobble quite a bit on Sunday afternoon.

Like you said I need to make time to exercise, I found I needed to make time for her and time away from the kids for her too.
