Got this centipede as part of a package deal where i picked up a solar fox pin, poker cab, centipede and STAR WARS (what I actually wanted but had to take them all.
Overall I got it working with not a lot of time put in, just a little here and there (I was lucky as I just restored a centipede a couple years ago for my arcade so I felt that if the pcb was good it would be pretty straightforward)
When I first checked it out it was getting 5.1 VDC at the PCB but only a blue pic on the monitor.
-I checked the PCB in my other centipede and found the PCB was fine (CHeating a little popping it in another working game but hey)
-removed power brick, replaced big blue capacitor ( this led to a blue screen but some game graphics... progress)
-then I replaced the bottlecap on the AR2 and reflowed the solder on it
-replaced fuse block and gave it new fuses
- cleaned PCB edge connector with eraser (that did it - game working
- installed a new trackball (btw you have to swap the molex connectors on a new trackball in a centipede to get the orientation right)
-plays nice and monitor fine for now (gonna live in my gameroom a while
Next up will be STAR WARS (should be fun - but I know v little about the color vectors)
