I am SO happy today.

Thanks go out to DLP for his patience with me in getting the machine from him.
Thanks go to EagleTG (again) for picking up the machine while on another game run.

Without these 2 kind, patient members of KLOV, I would not have a personal grail in my house (well, garage, but soon in the house).

So without further ado, I present to you, my latest pickup, Space Duel.

I still need to plug it in and play it, but it spent 3 hours in the cold and I did not think it was a good idea to do so when it arrived, and it's been too cold in the garage. Once I get this thing inside and acclimated, I can't wait to get blasting!!!!

Six point two miles. Yep, it was only 6.2 road miles from where I was picking up the Yie Ar Kung Fu. That's closer than I could have ever hoped for. Made it a no-brainer.

DLP was awesome, I had a great time hanging out. Would definitely be over at his place all the time if he was closer. Awesome gameroom, felt like walking into a time warp back to the Late 80's.

Thanks to Barakawins for his schedule flexibility, made all the difference in pulling this off. :)
 
Hi there Silverunicorn! Thanks for your kind words. No problem at all. I'm glad you like the game. I thought I had a CPO for Space Duel laying around here, but I haven't found it yet. (I have quite a few piles of artwork that i've collected over the years) I'll look again this week and if I find it, I'll send it out to you. I think I have some of the non-textured black t-molding for it as well. If you want that let me know and its yours too.

EagleTG, it was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. Both of you guys are welcome by my basement arcade anytime!

Nice Pickup! very good condition it looks like.

Basement arcade looks cool... is the ceiling painted black? I see the
joists in the pic but they dont seem to reflect the light.

I think this one is in really nice shape too. I had one LONG ago, and have missed it ever since.

Hopefuly I can get it IN the basement tonight so I can turn it on and play it!

Congrats on what is most definitely a very nice Space Duel. I was this >< close to buying that very same machine. Ultimately, I settled on my 25" Major Havoc project....but it is a very clean SD. Enjoy it!
 
Nice pick up! Dang it! I'm missing all the fun. I have to meet you guys. I'm sure you have games I'll like to play, especially that space duel. Winning personalities will be a plus. :)

Congrats, man! Space Duel is just an awesome game all-around. The vector monitor, 2-player gameplay, artwork, everything.

Thanks :) I had forgotten how much bass there was in this game, and just how freaking amazing the red ship appearing noise is :cool:
