So, I have been collecting on and off for 12 years. Had a couple hundred machines go through my hands along with nearly 100 separate PCBs.
I believe the most I ever paid for anything was $250 for a super nice Out Run, most of my games came home for under $100. I only ever bought "deals" and would fix them up, sometimes trade upwards towards better titles, etc. But no deal every came along for any sort of Pac.
Yesterday however I met up with a contact who builds multigames and often sells me his leftovers. I bought a few monitors, a control panel with some trackballs on it and a broken Ms. Pac board (great deal too).
The interboard cable had a couple pins broken off, so I pulled it and put the Z80 back on the main board. Had to bypass the edge connector for the AC power because Lanky Kong's Ms. Pac-Man cabinet was already set up that way and that was all it took. I immediately got a rock solid working Pac-Man board with Ms. Pac character proms installed. It worked flawlessly for hours. Today I swapped in some borrowed Pac-Man character proms to verify that all was truly well, and played my first ever game of Pac-Man on my own board.
Scored just over 150K.
Now I just need a cabinet.
