On the weekend I was lucky enough to nab my favorite game, Joust. When I saw the ad, I called the guy immediately and he ended up living only 15 minutes from my house, which is a miracle up here in rural Ontario! The seller had the machine for a few years, started restoring it, but didn't get around to finishing and needed to make room in his basement. The sides are repainted but no side art is applied yet, and it needs a new speaker grille. The deal included the new CPO and new T-molding he bought for it (not yet installed), as well as an extra board set.
I've only had a few minutes to play with it since bringing it home. The game powers up and displays the Joust logo and high scores, although the image is rolling vertically, I'm sure the pots just need adjusting. The image is bright and sharp anyways, with no significant burn-in. The control panel was unplugged, so hopefully tonight I can hook it all up again and actually play a few games. I only had time to snap a few crappy iPhone pictures of it, and I haven't even cleaned the dust off it yet, but I'm too excited not to share it.
