So I have been wanting one of these for awhile now but never seen one at a decent price. I finally found one at a price I could live with. Sad news is that I had to sell my Pac man that had Mark's six-pac kit in it to pay for my new aquisition. I am looking so forward to getting the Defender in it's new home. This is going to clean up nice. The guy threw in an extra CP also.

They came out both ways. The earlier models from what I understand used the chrome door because they are the same as some of the pins Williams was producing at the same time.

The silver doors as well as the transformers, speakers and some other parts were literally stolen off the pinball line from what I was told. The black doors came about when the pinball line manager complained that he didn't have any coin doors and threatened to stop building pins.

Both are original.

Ha ! With the popularity of Defender there probably was no parts at all left to build any pins .

Original Defenders do seem to be harder to come by, even though it was a big success for Williams. I don't know if it is because of conversions or most of them burned down to the ground from assholes lying cigarettes on the control panel because it made them "feel cool" while playing the game.

I can DISTINCTLY remember watching a guy play Defender at a local grocery store, and while playing he would take a HUGE drag from his cigarette, blow the smoke out "upwards" and then set the still burning death stick right on top of the control panel. I can't stand people who have no respect for other people's property...

That is why there the only known "NOS" Defender CPO is owned by a Sasquatch up in the Pacific Northwest.

I finally gave up and found an original one that only had a couple of extra holes in it that I sanded down and am polishing to buff the butt burns out for my Defender restore.

Nice! I sold both my Defenders. I would really like to find another nice one with a stainless door.

How much did you pay for your Defender? I got my shopped Defender for $590 with the silver coin mech.

Next thing you should get is a Stargate Defender. I play my Stargate more! Got the Stargate for $330 but it had a resetting problem that I fixed.

Anyone know where to get the special sized leaf switches for the joystick on this game? Mine broke. Good score. I love my Defender. Cool game, cool graphics, great sounds.
