FINALLY! Gameroom carpet!

LOL, that reminds me of the computer space hot extract thread long ago.

Looks good man.

I am still waiting for my carpet I ordered 3 weeks ago! My gameroom is complete, but cannot do anything till the carpet gets here. I hope it shipped yesterday, but I dont think it did.

Thanks. :D

Share some pictures of your room! Before and after if you can. I have to say that the room feel is 100% better with the new flooring.

nice carpet

I've always wanted some cool carpet for the gameroom, but after checking the carpet store, I put that idea on hold as the $700 price tag for half the room was WAY over my budget. Tuesday my wife found some used carpet at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore (donated from a closed Movie Gallery video rental store). So, we bought enough to do the whole upstairs of the garage and the steps going up, all for $225 (discounted for a bulk deal). I'm curious what everyone else has done for flooring and at what cost?

I'll post some finished pictures once I get the games all moved back. :D

LOL, yea, the curtain didn't look so bad before the carpet was installed. I guess you fix the ugliest items first (the floor) and the next ugliest thing jumps out.... I agree, the curtain has got to go!!

Everything looks good but you need to do something about that Centipede CPO.

OK, OT, but Centipede got some love yesterday! :D
A lighted marquee is in the works too.... why Atari skipped the lights in these cabarets????

I know I've shown this before, but yes it's on the 2nd floor.
The option to remove games really wasn't there as it's quite the production to take in or out.
This UMKIII has since been sold.

Wow. Did you have any help with the games or was it just you? BTW nice tractor!!

Usually it took 2 of us to get a machine in. Might be possible with 1, but not safely (OK, yea, not risk free with 2 either). That UMKIII was removed by just me, but it about tore something, so no more 1 person moves!

Still going on carpet. Got the back bedroom done today, still have to put the trim back. This room will have the couch, 2 cocktails (DK Jr & Crystal Castles), and TV plus the usual consoles.

Well, the carpet is officially filthy.
Not the through the backing type of filth, but colors gone type of filth.
I installed a piece in the back room that had some section that must have had a fixture over it. The colors are a thousand times more vibrant. Bright aqua streaks and neon blues.
Last night I brought a scrap piece in to try some cleaner on to see what works and what might hurt it. Water alone made the blue look a little better, but the colors stayed grey looking. I decided Oxi clean might do something and BOOM, they're back, bright as new!! So once everything is done, the carpet cleaner is going up there and the room will really look good! Just dread machine moves. Amazed that it looks good now honestly. :D

Course, compared to brown painted plywood, anything is likely to look good!

Great carpets! I don't have anything special and probably won't :(

BTW, D. Very cool optical illusion when scrolling your picture down, it looks like it is zooming in. Freaked me out the first couple of times.:hail:

ken

WOW , i`m glad you said that ,, as i scrolled over that for a few times wondering what i was looking at , it did seem to zoom , well spotted fellow acu-eyes !!!

Carpet does really help make the arcade pop! I am on the fence right now. I am in the process of finishing my arcade room in my basement, but I can't justify over a grand for black light carpet for the size room I have. I was hoping I could find something that is plain jane, but still looks cool under lights.

Heres mine. Thats a good deal. Carpet looks great. I got a good deal on mine when Walmart was selling it from Joy Carpets. I got it for way less than it is now.

Oh. My. God. I want that carpet for my Tron-themed gameroom. What's the name of the style?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it at Joy Carpet. Its called Shockwave.

Just go with regular carpet, and do not have Olson Rug install it.

Seriously, as Nike says: Just Do It! It will look cool and everyone will love it. Everyone loves my carpet and the colors we have on the wall. I spent a fortune on my, but I feel good when I go down there to game. It gives you a sense of not being home, so you can get away from it all without going anywhere.

Yeah, that looks like the direction I am going. I gotta finish mudding and sanding this week, paint this weekend, then hanging ceiling and carpet time! I'll get my old man to help me with installing it. I am going red for my walls, so probably will go with a tan-ish white color carpet which should look ok.

you guys might want to call around on carpet if you have been thinking about it, with the economy I dont think their selling to much arcade carpet these days.....they are dealing.

I would call astro carpet and value carpet was really dealing ....both threw me out some pretty good deals....I bought a roll of 12'x34' for $365, plus $90 shipping and it's on the way now from astro. ......all the other usual places didn't answer the phone or had crazy prices

Peace, B
