Was actually a PITA. If I ever do it again I think I can fix the flaws I have with this set up but for now I'm happy. Anyone want to play name that token?

Very nice. I was wanting to do something like that with my tokens. Are they glued in there, taped, or pressed hard against the glass with a cushioning background? Basically how do they stay there when you hang it vertically?

cool. Are those all arcade tokens? Looks like at least 1 is an old NH turnpike toll (bottom, second from the right). If they're arcade tokens, did you collect these from locations or were these all pulled from old machines?

they are pressed. This was actually the second attempt. Fist time they fell. Basically I got a picture frame and removed the cardboard backing as it was not firm enough. I then took 1/4" wood and cut it to the size of the cardboard I removed. On top of the wood I places a thin cushion. On top of the cushion I put the velvet and then the tokens. Line it all up, place the glass on top. Then put the frame on top of the glass. Now the trick is to put pressure so nothing moves and flip the frame so it sits face down. I then took another piece of 1/4" wood cut just slightly smaller than the frame. I glued this to the other piece of wood and used small screws to hold the wood to the frame. There's probably an easier way but it works.

As for what tokens I have in there

4 CEC from different eras ( different designs)
2 alladin's castle (to show both sides)
2 boomers (show both sides)

all except 1 of the coins are used in arcades. You may be right about the NH turnpike token as I was sent a few from someone near fun spot and I remember them pointing out that one of them they sent me was not actually an arcade token but was in circulation at fun spot. The one coin that is not used in an arcade is actually money from bahrain. My buddy was deployed there and brought it back to me because it looks just like a token. Which was exactly what I said to him when he gave it to me.

Some of the tokens I actually had from BITD, others i found in games I bought, a few were sent to me by collectors and I searched out some on ebay.

You inspired me to take a look at my token collection which just ends up in a jar after I pull them from machines. 11 different designs from across North America. 4 just from arcades in Ontario Canada.

I would say, the easiest way to keep the tokens from slipping would be to use a router to make grooves in a piece of wood big enough for the tokens to sit in , then put the velvet in, and lay the tokens in the tract, and press it up against the glass. Or, use kebab skewers, and put them between each horizontal row of tokens underneath the velvet to keep the tokens from slipping far enough to get out of the grid.

Very nice. I was thinking about doing something similar but leaving a small hole in the lining behind each token, smaller than the size of each. Then putting museum wax in that space to safely tack each token to the frame backing beneath the lining.
