Finally found a Joust - and it's great

8226 is on the bottom in my Robotron UR.
They're different in my Joust CT.

I'd wait until someone else chimes in before putting them back.

Ok, I'll put both back. Which one goes where? I've got an 8239 and an 8226 to put back in.

those stupid motorola numbers.... the 8226 is the one closest to the plug and its on the 5v line which is the 2N6057/6059. the 8239 is furthest away from the plug which is the 2N3055.

I've swapped the bottlecaps again, no change

I've swapped C14 (because it was found to have been installed backwards) and no change

I've swapped BR2 and no change

I still have to check D3.

Bummer.

Also check for continuity from all solder joints.

You should post in general repair. Mecca lives there and is pretty good.
...among others who can help.

Just wanted to circle back to this - my Joust is now finally working :)

I gave up on the linear power supply and swapped in a more modern computer power supply. Some day I hope to be able to repair the original power supply, but for now, it's working again.

I'll get some pics taken once I get the t-molding replaced and clean up the machine. I still need to find some replacement metal rails for the bottom edge of the cabinet.

+100000000

There's a JROK in the bottom of the cabinet, I'm not gonna lie :D

But I won't hook it up and use it unless I can get my hands on a different control panel. And I already have the Joust-to-JAMMA adapter connected to the JROK. I'm not planning on hacking anything up in this cabinet. It'll stay a Joust for a while running all-original (sans power supply), until I can find some extra goodies for it.

It lives! It's been on and off several times since a few weeks ago, and seems rock solid. Screen has degaussed itself since then and looks great.

So yeah, I need a yellow button. Anyone got one for me? :D
