Finally and Amazing find in HAWAII

I vote this for the best warehouse find ever.

What is the backstory? Is the person a former op who just has them sitting around off location or is he / she a collector? How did you run across this? Is it close to you?

I sure hope you can score a few of those games (all of them!).

Absolutely amazing stuff! Those are some great games and pins! Fantastic score! Ship me a Quantum or iRobot! :)

Very nice lot of games. This looks like a collectors stash of games. You have a lot of
top shelf classics, nos parts and console stuff. That, along with some restored machines
makes me believe this is a collectors stash that got sold after something happened.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Play2day Ebay collector/buyer, he was out
of Hawaii and for a while was throwing a lot of money around and buying up a TON of
NOS parts and nice machines like these. I dont remember the guys name but I think
he flaked out and disappeared and ended up owing Daring Jacobs a good deal of money
for art he didnt pay for. I bet the Play2day guy has something to do with this as there
were/are not a lot of heavy hitter collectors out of Hawaii.

Todd Yamamoto was the Play2day guys name. And he was out of Honolulu, just like the
original poster. I just searched some more and it appears that Todd died back in 2007. I
would still bet that these games have something to do with him though, either he
owned them at one time or that these games and parts have been in storage since he
died and they are now finally for sale.

wow

....................................................who knows how to drive a cargo ship?

I think he's saying it all got auctioned off because there are stickers on the stuff.....no one can afford all of those, lol....so they are getting spread out because of the auction that just happened there from the guy that passed away.

People throw the words 'unbelievable' and 'amazing' around a lot, but this find truly deserves them! Wow.

I have to admit, I saw the first pic and thought "meh, not that amazing", but then I saw the MH and Quantums etc, and was like ok, this is amazing. And in Hawaii no less. I am still a firm believer that there are a lot of games and parts out there waiting to be found.
i wouldn't be posting any pics until those games were in my own garage.

that's one hell of a stash right there. also, what's up with the things sticking out from the top of that 720?

Killer find. There *WAS* a collector in HI buying a lot of top shelf games in the mid 2000s. I forget his name. I'm not sure if this is that collector's stash, but I'm sure someone around here knows...

Probably some brackets for speakers. I remember seeing a 720 that someone mounted
some external Bose(or the like) speakers up off the sides of the boom box. For all I know
that is the same game.

Like I said in my previous post, I would bet that is Todd Yamamotos(Play2day) old stash.
He is pretty much the only heavy hitter that I can remember to come out of Hawaii.

This should be considered warehouse score of the year for sure! Amr, what titles are you getting??

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this post.....this stuff's gotta be connected to Todd.

This was Todd's stash, and the collection of NOS supplies was unreal.... two batches of stuff bid beyond me, had I known what was in them, I would have not let them go, 2200 for a shelf of boxes? Worth every penny, I'm wishing I had just done it.

There is a sad side to this, Todd had amazing taste and threw some money around, but he did die in 2007.

As far as titles and in my own garage? The auction was yesterday. There are two other great guys here in Hawaii who collect and the three of us tried not to step on toes. A friend on the mainland fronted funding to gun for the pins and as the auctioneer was over heard saying, "This was the most spirited auction I've had in a long time". We had fun.

I had the funding to buy a lot more between myself and a friend, but I did let a few go. The Star Wars was AMAZING and sold for what people here would say was a "nice price" for one you find kicked to the curb. It was funny though, people were there to spend some money, and when they didn't get there first item, they of course have more money to bid the next. So the deal was to stop bidding on something 2-3 before the one you wanted, voila, low bids when it was you turn...

At the end of the day I had purchased for myself and another 6 of the pins and 40 plus cabs. The nonworking lot will be split between a few guys, after all, They didn't bid against me, and they moved the stuff to my house when I went back to the hospital.

I will give more about exactly what I got and what we got, but it is suffice to say that while I don't have the Star Wars, I did end up with at least 1 of each other vector there. And it is suffice to say, I have an extra Major Havoc, I almost had an extra Quantum, but let's face it, I live on an island and sometimes it's just fun to see everyone go home smiling.

It was a great day. My only regret is that I didn't go after the two other NOS shelves harder, I got 2 of the 4. I did leave a lot of information with people so hopefully we will see some of those NOS parts funnel to the store.

It was also fun to see that many people in Hawaii excited about games.

I can't tell you how many times I got, and this is a quote, "No Bra... for reals, you sell arcade parts in Waimanalo? Do you fix games too?"

It was amazing to be in that room and just take in what was there. I don't know that an OP would ever have had that collection, in the future I think collections like this will only come from the same place this one did, a well off collector whose estate was being settled....

I will start a thread in a few days in the for sale section to gauge interest in items. We are shipping a 20 foot back to the mainland.

of note... my original offer for every pin/vid/part in the warehouse of 50k was rejected. I don't think it was serious at all but the day before I was there looking(when the pictures were taken) and I was asked how much I would give for everything, I said, I'll give you 50k right now... it was a no go.

I was told "Those pins are worth more than 50K", to which I said, "Not until show me them plugged in they are not...." We all had a great time.

There is one other elusive heavy hitter, the Edot collector here, but he does not collect hit diverse a stash of games. I am sure he was there yesterday, even though we've never met. I've thought of just setting up an appointment with his practice to "say hi".... :)
