For years, I've seen many threads about folks who find a curbside cab that only needed a fuse.

Anything I've ever gotten for free was a clapped-out mess that needed a total tear down or was completely empty.

So one night I saw a Pac-Man's arcade party, presented as non-working for free. I noticed that it was posted less than 15 minutes before so I sent a message basically telling them that I have a truck and heard nothing.

My area is very populated and anything close to a great deal is swooped up instantly so I had no expectations.

The next day I got a reply and I was off on an after-work 3 hour round trip. Had a lot of time to think about how to repair it if the monitor or PCB was bad, etc.

Got to the pickup and was shocked. A bit of cobwebs and some minor wear, but otherwise in great cosmetic shape. I loaded it up and took it home.

Decided not to plug it in until I could open it up and take a look. Later that night, when I got a chance, I inspected it and found it complete and really nothing to explain why it didn't work, no blown fuse, nothing at all.

Plugged it in and from information here I knew the startup takes a bit, really only about 30-45 seconds.

Literally nothing wrong with it. The volume knob was a bit sticky, but deoxit fixed that. This is a real score for me and a fun addition!

Yes it's an lcd and emulator, but it's licensed and it's a real cab, made of 3/4 particle board and very well made.

Might drop in a in-line scan line generator, but besides that it just needs a bit of cleaning!
