I am making a custom control panel out of a 12 button CP. I need to fill about 6 of the holes. Has anyone done this before or used a metal shop to fill in unnecessary holes? I might also want to have one additional hole drilled in a different area. Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you have access to a welder, you should weld in plugs. Personally I would cut a piece of 16gauge sheet metal and weld it underneath.. Then you could fill with bondo or weld plugs. 12 holes in a cp is like Swiss cheese

Bondo

here are before and after pics. They explain the process! Hope this helps.

I filled in a few holes on my Rolling Thunder panel when I mame'd the cabinet. I used Plexiglass squares epoxied under the holes and filled them with bondo. Similar to welding plugs on, but less permanent.
