I played this for a few minutes this morning and scored just shy of 17,000. Now, was this revision ever released in the wild? Did it come in a dedicated cab? I like the challenge and fast pace. Any of you with the multi kit notice all the swear words and derogatory comments that were obviously added/re-recorded? I was called a 'pussy' and I thought I caught the f bomb a time or 2 while listening to Q*bert's garbled speech. Thanks Mike Doyle.

It's an ASUS and it's sensitive. I haven't been known for my bad grammar before, so I'm asking for a pass, Shawn.

BTW: I've never played FHMC Q*bert. Sounds like fun. I know you like your Qubes and 7/11.

So I take it the sound is working much better now?

Ahahahahaha, I been meaning to call you, but I was waiting for a bit of a burn in period. Your soundboard did NOT work with Doyle's kit. I had random sounds firing off more rapidly than Fritz's bobbin' noggin' when he plays Woody Wood Pecker's Revenge under the head table at the Ghetto Perkins on the East side. I went back to my original soundboard and things are *almost* perfect again, except that I still sometimes lose sound if the game has been on for more than 2-3 hours at a stretch. Pushing P1 & P2/Up resets to the menu and the sound is back again. I can send your board back any time.

I've heard a few instances of regular Q*bert marquees with the small FHMC screened over so it's only visible by really hunting for it.

You sir scare the hell out of me.

Send it back at your convenience. It was worth a shot to try. It was a spare and had a lot of trace fixes. Guess I will just use it for parts.

About how long playing the game did it take before you started noticing the alleged swear words?

I've played it (but not for long since it kicks my butt easily) and not really heard anything like that.

Now you have me wondering if my sound board is fully working........thanks! ;^)

Mine is a early 6 in 1 kit though if that makes any difference.

I was on the 3rd board when I was called a pussy for jumping off the pyramid. Listen closely when you die. I know on the main menu, if you keep jumping without making a selection you will get "Come on already!" and some other phrases that I can't remember at the moment.

We added speech to the menus as easter eggs, but didn't alter the game speech. It's a little challenging to program for the SC-01, there are sound segments that you string together to form words and pauses.

The difficulty is in making something that is understandable to everyone, even those that haven't heard it before.

What may be different is the ROM origins aren't MAME dumps, but were from archives of an old Mylstar employee. That's what I recall, it's been a few years & beers but if you recall the fracas over Mello Yello on RGVAC when it was discovered- Google that if you're having trouble sleeping; anyway, we had that from the source instead of sourcing it from a board or MAME dump.

In summary- you guys with the Multi Q*bert have gotten something special.

What time is it? I explained how to build a watch instead :-(

I really appreciate the little insight you can give on the development of this kit. I for one think it's one of the best multi solutions out there. Maybe it's because Gottlieb comprised such a small and short piece of the video game pie BITD. All of the games that could have been, had limited release, almost were, etc. Had they entered that section of the market 3-4 years prior, who knows how many sweet dedicated Gottlieb titles we'd be talking about (and troubleshooting) now. That's why I decided to take on the topper project for the Mello Yello roms. I figure if the history is that sparse, why not create some to fill in the blanks and make it feel like it should have happened.

Reviving this thread because I've recently gotten back into FHMC after a couple years away.

Can we get a FHMC score check? What scores do you have that I need to work on beating?
