I've been thinking of swapping out my Wheel of Fortune. It is HUO and I bought it "almost" NIB from Jack. It was used in a tournament, then repacked at the factory, then to me. It looks and plays as new. I had this game at MGC 2 years ago. Before that I gave it a complete tear-down clean and wax, changed to white rubber and colored Cliffy posts. Game plays super fast and smooth. I enjoy the game greatly, but it might be time for a change. If I don't get a good offer, I also don't mind keeping it, so lowballs will be ignored, sorry! :)

I'm mostly looking for a straight trade, though might trade "down" for the right game or combo of games. I don't have much money to kick in, so trades "up" probably won't work unless it's very close or I could MAYBE add my High Speed (7 or so condition) into the deal for the right title. Would only do this for a select few machines though as I love my HS! :)

I'm waiting to hear from a friend of mine who has first chance at it before making any deals.

Here is what I'd be most interested in, but feel free to shoot me other trade offers. Not really looking to sell outright at this point unless it's an offer I can't refuse.

Straight trade (depending on condition, could be +/- a little cash, I realize some of these are long shots):
WH2O
RBION
24
Shrek
SS
TOM
Sopranos

Up trades that I could maybe include HS and/or a little cash (I know these are long shots, but heavily routed/minor projects are ok):
SM
BDK
IM
TF
TZ
TAF

Down trades (would consider game plus cash or multiple games.):
TFTC (highest want in this category)
BSD
Star Trek 25th (DE)
No Fear
JM
Fireball EM

Possibly lots of others depending on what they are paired with in a multi-pin deal. Would also consider classic arcade vids in package deal such as Pac-Man, Mario Bros, Burgertime, Q*Bert, Mappy. Would also consider interesting EM arcade games, such as shooting gallery games (Haunted House rifle game especially). Also would consider a nice foosball table partial.

Not interested in shipping unless for a very great deal. I am willing to do some heavy driving if you want to swap a Spiderman or something like that though! :)

Let me know if you are interested, here or at jediturtle at yahoo.

Thanks!
Chris

I have a really great Addams family Im looking to swap out as well. Perhaps we could work out a deal?

I've always wanted a WOF. I think your even trades may be a little more than this is worth. They were selling for 2500 NIB a few years back. But what do I know! :)

Won't find one NIB for that now, will you? CVs were like $1800 NIB at one point too. :)~

From what I've seen, most of my "even trades" should be pretty close and I did say +/- a few bucks if necessary. I know some on the list might be stretches, but it's all about condition!

Wait wait wait... did I just see somebody compare WOF to CV?!

No, just showing that a close-out price when a pin was new doesn't necessarily mean squat years later. :) Although I'm in a pretty good position to compare them if you'd like since mine are sitting side-by-side. :)

I have no dillusion that WOF is worth much more than it was new the way CV is. The very, very few that I've seen for sale recently have gone for the same range most of the machines on my even trade list go for. WH2O, RBION, SOP and 24 should all easily fall in that range in good shape. SS, Shrek and TOM could if they are rough, routed machines, though like I said I know that's a stretch.

If you have proof that WOF is worth way less than that as you seem to be implying, please send it my way. I try to stay fairly well informed. That said if I don't get what I feel is a fair trade, I will be happy to keep it. I'm not forcing anyone into anything.

The cheapest I saw WOF for was 2800.00 nib shipped 2400.00 +400 shipped from Canada. That was a one time deal.I bought mine 8 months ago and paid 2600.00 HUO.
It is a very fun game, has lots of challenges, and you will never get to the unfinished Code in my opinion.Besides lots of the B/W games had unfinished codes and game glitches, those are some of my favorites too.if I still had rbion I would do the trade in a second,LAWLORS worst game IMHO.

Thanks for the info. I'm not far off in my value of it then. I really enjoy the game, just thinking it could be time for a change. We'll see what shakes loose. I'm not in a hurry to move it, and might get cold feet all together and just hold on to it.

cash don't work? :) Got any pics?

Only if you make me an offer I can't refuse! :)

I plan to take some pics this weekend (hopefully). Gotta get a fresh coat of wax on it in preperation for Midwest Gaming Classic and will take some then. Of course it will be able to be seen in person at MGC (assuming it's not gone before then).

I do keep going back and forth over if I really want to sell it. It's not like there are many around if I ever decide I need it back! It's definitely a fun and very unique game.

you must have a number your looking to get for it.....

His price=Only if you make me an offer I can't refuse!seems pretty clear to me.I think fair market huo is 26-2800. IMO

I understand that completely and wouldn't expect you to. :) Like I said I'm going to try to take some pics soon, otherwise I'm not far from you in Plymouth, or the machine will be at MGC in less than 2 weeks. I'd never ask anyone to make a firm offer sight-unseen. Initial offers, sure, but I wouldn't hold anyone to a number until they see it and we are finalizing everything.

As for a number...I don't know. Like I said in the thread title, this is really just a feeler right now. I mostly want to trade, and have a couple good possibilities on the table now. If I would go cash, it would be at the higher end of the value scale to be honest. I have no intention of giving the game away as I enjoy it too much. I have seen a couple people sell theirs for way less than I would be willing to sell mine at, but they were able to dump them quick. I have no need to do that.

I must sound like I'm playing games with not naming a price, and I apologize for that. It's not my intent to be "that guy". This is just feeling things out and seeing what I could get (trade-wise) for it if I would decide to let it go. I thought I was making that clear intitially, but I must not have, so I apologize for any confusion or annoyance. :)

Yea...I'm really not trying to be difficult here.

Honestly, that may be close to fair market value, but I don't think I would take a cash offer in that range. There are just not that many out there. I have seen a couple change hands on RGP for that price range, and they were very quick sells. I'm just not that desperate to get rid of it. If that's all I can get for it, chances are I'll just keep it. I have had some more attractive trade offers though.

The only two I see on the market right now are both NIB, one on Mr Pinball for $4200, the other on RGP for $4k. That I will agree is high, but they are NIB (which mine is obviously not). I do not see any others for sale right now.

The last one that actually sold on ebay was HUO, not NIB, and sold for $3895 on 2/8/12. It is still up there under completed auctions if you don't believe me.

Boston Pinball shows an ebay average of $2663 in the past year, but that's only 4 machines. No idea if they were routed, NIB, or somewhere in between. 4 isn't enough to be statistically sound. Go back further and 17 total machines have sold at an average of $3108. Again, no idea conditions going that method, but at least it's enough transactions to get a solid average.

The truth is so few of these are out there and changing hands that it's hard to pin down a true market value on them. I have no dillusion that this is a super high-end machine, but they aren't exactly falling out of the sky either and more people are seeing how good of a game it is. All I can say is it is my machine, and I won't sell it for less than it is worth TO ME. If that matches up with what a buyer thinks it is worth TO THEM, cool. If not, it can stay in the collection.

Since people really seem to be hung up on a number, I will hesitantly say best offer over $3k would probably get the job done. Based on the trade offers I have gotten, I don't think that's far off the mark at all. I may change my mind down the road and go down to that range you mentioned, and it does appear to be a fair range based on a very few machines changing hands, but I don't know. I enjoy it more than that, so I'd probably just keep it then.

Does that make sense, or do I sound like an insane person?? :) LOL

You make sense. :) I'll take the rest of this conversation via PM if I'm interested. :)
