Any ideas here? All I'm hoping is my $120 Root Beer Tapper bezel is not getting beat to crap being driven around and around and around and NOT delivered. :( Whatta load a crap!!!

If you look at the picture, the exception is "No attempt made, delivery scheduled for next business day." Only problem is the delivery date was yesterday... until the missed it then it became today... then they missed that so now it's showing as Monday.

Shitty thing is I saw the damn FedEx guy drive by the house yesterday. :(

[edit]I probably should have mentioned that "Conklin, NY" is the local FedEx location so the package is here in town...

My guess is that the delivery guy hit the end of his shift and packed it in. It happened to me about a month ago. I mentioned it to a neighbor that is a UPS driver and he said that sort of thing happens all the time.

99% of the packages I get I wouldn't care about this happening with but *this* package was one of those splurges that you feel guilty about right after you send payment. ;) Completely my luck that *this* would have to be the package this happens to!

When the truck returns to the office in the evening, you can go pickup the package from there. They usually have 30 mins to an hour that they allow you to pick them up every day.

Happened to me about a year ago. I was watching the tracking of a package I was expecting and it was marked as no one at home even though I was there with the door open, waiting. I immediately called FedEx and had it in my hand in half an hour.

Unfortunately, untrue. Had this same situation a few times with them and decided to go claim my package one day. I went to the local depot where it was sitting. They told me they were unable to retrieve individual packages out of the back/loading dock. It would be too much trouble to locate it and take up valuable man-hours to be digging around for anyone's packages that stopped in. Basically, if it's scheduled to be delivered by truck, that's the only way you're getting it. Maybe they were filling my head with lies because they were lazy, but it sounded pretty logical at the time.

locally you have to contact someone either by phone, email or a slip they leave on the door informing them that you will pick up at their office. Once the truck that has it returns the item is pulled and set aside to be picked up. Some times you can get it the same day you contact them but most of the time the next day is the best that can be done. still it's not on a truck getting bounced around.

I was referring to the "early" delivery non-attempts that they (don't) make. If it's not scheduled to be delivered until another day, yet is still in their local possession (truck or depot), you can't retrieve it.

If it's past it's delivery date, then of course you can get it in person.

I know that at if you want to pick up your package from UPS, you need to call first and let them know you want to come pick it up. This gives them time to locate your package so they can tell you when your package will be ready for you to pick up at the customer counter.

If you just show up without calling before hand and say you want your package, it's not good because it may be on route already and won't be in the building until the driver finishes his shift. Or it may be delivery attempted while you're there and not home. So you'll just be wasting your time and theirs.

I helped a FedEx chick driving a Sprinter get her van unstuck from the snow after making a delivery across the street from me. She had a regular non-dualie Sprinter with really cheesy dry street tires on the back. It took my neighbor and I about an hour to get her off my street, and I doubt her day got better from there.

I'm sure she missed deliveries that day and I agree with the people who said weather.

If an attempt was made to deliver the package. You do not need to call Fedex before you go pick it up. I called once, found out their policy and have just gone and gotten them before. They will not release packages that have not had at least one delivery attempt. I do not know what they would say about the exceptions, but you could be sure I would be down there getting my package and saying they need to make another exception since they can't make an attempt after two days on the truck.

The Fedex office is near where I work. There has been multiple occasions where I knew I would not be home to sign for a package so I shipped Fedex on purpose. Then I just work late and stop by the office on the way home and get my package.

Not sure why anyone would get the runaround when this seems to be their official policy. Maybe you tried to pickup a package that had not been on a truck yet? It is very easy for them to find packages that come back on a truck. Not sure where they put then, but it doesn't take but a couple minutes to ever find a package for me.
