Favorite Pac - Junior!

Here is the order that I like them.

1. Pac-Man Plus
2. Ms. Pac-Man
3. Super Pac-Man
4. Jr. Pac-Man
5. Pac-Man

Probably not much love for Pac N Pal because its such a rare game...not many of those boards around...I guess most play it on mame ...I have a few Pac N Pal boards..one is original board and the other two are super pac conversions...Game is same..just easier for plug and play with super pac conversion..as opposed to original which plays only in dedicated jr pac with harness mods...

My order:

1. Jr. Pac-Man
2. Pacmania
3. Ms. Pac-Man
4. Pac-Man
5. Super Pac-Man
6. Pac-Man Plus

It's close for 5 & 6, pac-plus is kinda blah and Super Pac is just weak.

Jr. Pac with the speed up chip or via the 60 in 1. However, keep it slow and it's a hell of a challenge.

IN FACT: a year ago I emailed Twin Galaxies about a Mame score for the TURBO version of Jr. Pac. (As they did have it listed) I asked them what the speedy jr. rom was called as I couldn't find it(the rom file itself). I wanted to submit a score. I was emailed back by one of the refs, stating that they couldn't find the rom either and took it off of the competition(website) because they said that it was a rom Hack. I emailed them back and said "Well, what the hell do you think Ms Pac and regular speedy pac are?"

They didn't have an answer for me, I then asked them how Robert Mruczek and this other dude, got a high score for Speedy Pac Jr. back in 2005, but all of the sudden, now its considered a ROM hack? I then asked them if they could provide me with this supposed speedy Jr. rom hack that Robert M. used to get the high score and TG said they didn't have access to it.

Whats killer is that Robert M. Verified his score himself. If you look at a lot of his scores, he verifys them himself and it's all done in one day. Kind of makes me wonder if he didn't just put random scores on the website to "Get the ball rolling" so to speak on some of those games listed in MAME. For the TG site (before they become popular). Just a thought....

Here is the Turbo Jr. Pac scores, but after I emailed them, it instantly became classified as a Hack and they won't take scores nor tell me where the hell they got the speedy version of the rom or it's name and how these two people come up with high scores on in the first place.

I really like Pac Jr. But gotta go with a good old Pac with a speed chip for second. Nothing like a Pac on Crack to get the blood flowing!

Jr. with a speed chip...I'd like to give that a go though.

Thinking about this i remember a pac man hack that when you held in the player1 or 2 button both pac man and the ghosts would speed up. I don't think that one is on my 24-in-1 but i'm sure its on the 96-in-1

I like Jr Pac too, but man it's tough. I played it a bunch of times when I was at Funspot for the tourney a few weeks ago, and the highest I could get was only 67K. I think it was removed from the scoreboard because the hack was done in MAME (the MAME dev's removed it for that reason). The others were actually a separate ROM. I have seen a turbo Jr though, there's one about an hour away from me, but it has issues (prizes bounce thru the maze, and your score gets letters in it occasionally)
Here's an old thread over at TG that sort of explains it, although Robert's post at the end makes it sound like you could use an older version. Perhaps they changed their mind when they started using WolfMAME 106.

As to Robert verifying his own scores, I think he was just adding scores to the board so there wouldn't be a bunch of empty ones. Most of them weren't that great of scores, but it gave someone something to shoot for.
Someone else mentioned Ms Pac Championship edition (I guess I'm a nerd, as I have submitted a score for that one ;) ). They accept submissions on WolfMAME 78 on that one, as it doesn't run right on 106 (some screens, you run regular speed, and there's not enough time to complete a level at regular speed)

what score did you submit? im guessing it was a mame challenge of the week as most of the scores seem to have been submitted at the same general time. i just threw down 139,030.
