Favorite Girl Scout cookie?

My kid sold around 150 boxes this year. Or should I say, I sold 150 boxes...

My wife is the troop leader and the troop sold around 4,000 boxes total.

The most popular were the thin mints and samoas.

Holy crap. Did they get a grocery store or something? I think we might have sold 60-70 boxes total, doubt they got 500 as a troop. New troop though, and my 6-year old's first year.

I sold like 20-30 at work. Samoas/thins/shortbreads, but Samoas mostly.

Samoas is it. I have shown major restraint taking out only one box a week myself.

There are 28 kids in the troop. The kids averaged 150 boxes each. I guess the prize for 150 is some kind of GSA scarf....

Here's some interesting GS cookie stories from the last few days. My god.

Man, when I was a kid back in the early 80's they had an amazing cookie but for some reason it only lasted a few years. Kookaburras ruled. I heard that the makers of Twix sued them but that was just the rumor.

Ban the cookies!! They evoke violent behavior!! Or at least we need a rating system for cookies with the Girl Scout ones (and I would argue Golden Oreos) getting an MA rating.

From girlscouts.org:

Q: What are the best-selling Girl Scout Cookies?

A: The biggest sellers are:

•25% Thin Mints
•19% Samoas®/Caramel deLites®
•13% Peanut Butter Patties®/Tagalongs®
•11% Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos®
•9% Shortbread/Trefoils
The other varieties combined account for the remaining 23%.

Samoas.

They are unbelievable, and I don't even like coconut. :)

im sitting on several boxes right now. somoas, thin mints, short bread, and tag alongs.
my wife was a girl scout and i was a boy scout so we are very supportive of these groups.
i love cookie season!

Tagalongs
Samoas
Dosidoes
Thin Mints

Tagalongs and thin mints go straight to the freezer.

Dosidoes are good for breakfast!!!

I buy four boxes of each, more if more people at work are selling them.
I always try to support the parents I work with. I remember my Dad would always sell my stuff at work and his co-workers would buy it. It's cool to think about how things have reversed.

In Texas they are caramel delites. That's what my wife and son like. I like the Thanks-A-Lot.

Not in this part of Texas... There are two bakeries that produce the cookies. Depending on which Bakery makes the cookies, you get the appropriate name...

Oh, and Tagalongs FTW!

They were changed from Samoas to Carmel deLites then back to Samoas. I just asked the lady selling them from Girl Scouts.

False.... Two different bakeries providing the cookies... It clearly explains this on the Girl Scout Cookie site. :)

Girl Scout Councils choose their licensed baker, either Little Brownie Bakers or ABC Bakers. Each of the bakers owns its cookie names, except Thin Mint, which is in the common domain. So a cookie like the Trefoil / Shortbread may look and taste similar, but your local Girl Scout council determines which one will be on the market when they select their baker.

The non-tagalong, non-samoa cookies are fakes...
I feel sorry for those little girls.

It's has to be like trying to sell catnip to a pothead.
