NEW Favorite Gauntlet?

The original Gauntlet is what got me into this hobby.
I remember when I was younger going into the local mall Arcade and playing the shit out of it.
Was fortunate enough when I started getting into purchasing Arcade games to find someone locally that had one.
Now I have the original one I purchased as well as Gauntlet II.
Both are sitting side by side in my Arcade.
Probably will never get rid of either one.
My favorite character is Merlin.
Never really liked Thor or Thyre due to them being so slow.

My nemesis in collecting gauntlet arcade machines only has two? Laughs.
I swore you had more than two at least you buy like you have more than 2.

I drove over 22 hours to pickup the 1st one. I did pick up a hitch hiker on the way but since I was late, I Pickup the arcade machine 1st before dropping off the hitch hiker. I still have the hitch hiker's sign. The sign is in the cab.

Lol.
Thanks Joe!
:)
Gauntlet is my baby......
Really love that game and I do partake in a few auctions involving multiple Gauntlet boards and parts.

I'm about to start a restoration of a converted cabinet. Sides have been painted, and there's a chunk at the rear edge that'll get patched in, and holes for a hasp.

Best way to strip the original vinyl laminate off? I can't get it 'started' to peel anywhere. Heavy duty paint stripper?

Want to use vert grade laminate on sides and front.

So, this will be Gauntlet 1 and my favorite. Used to play the C64 port, then the PC VGA port in early 90s.

There is a reason why I have multiple gauntlets.

Gauntlet was the last arcade machine I played in a real arcade machine. I had extra money in my pockets due to being a machinist (before ex wife kind of money lol) Dropping 50 bucks of tokens in one machine was typical.

Got the 1st machine had parties, one family spent the day playing it. Got 2nd machine another family played it.. Family vs family. LOL

So 3rd machine was bought. Finally my old friends got to play a round.

But you know gauntlet. There always a pain in the ass who doesn't play well with others..

Poof 2 player version was bought. We use the two player as a time out game. Laughs.

Have you tried a heat gun to see if the glue will peel off?

Good luck.. Post pictures..

Thanks..

Gauntlet I for me. Even though it is just known as Gauntlet.

I also own Gauntlet II, just for the hell of it.
