One of my buddies owns a Nine Ball and a Meteor... Nine Ball totally rocks. LOVE that game! Not saying Meteor is awful, I just prefered Nine Ball...

Anybody else have a classic Stern in their collection? And/or what's your favorite one? Was reading rgp posts, and it seems everybody loves one called Star Gazer - never played it....

On a side note, I saw the backglass for a Stern Viper---Wow!!!! Heard the machine was a dog, but that artwork is beeeaaautiful!

the only one i've ever owned is flight 2000......sold it, but i kinda miss it from time to time. really liked the primitive speech and the upper left ball lock system.

Cheetah

Got my Cheetah. Restored it from the ground up. I have been playing for over a year now and still enjoy it. Would like to find a nice Flight 2K or other multi/speech that is affordable but no luck so far. Cheetah is working well for me tho; the 3 sets of drop targets makes every game different.

I love the classic Stern games. Right now I've got:

Pinball EM and SS
Stingray
Dracula
Meteor
Big Game
Nine Ball
Lightning

Hard to pick a favorite. Right now I would probably pick Nine Ball.

i have not owned a stern yet. i used to love to play galaxy, dracula, and nugent bitd at the local arcade.

I love my Seawitch.

I have played Stingray at PAGG and really enjoyed it for its relaxed play and awesome sea-themed artwork. I would get one if I found one.

The second pin I ever bought was a Meteor. Played the heck out of it but it kept blowing fuses. I'd love to play or own Stars someday. The game play might be bad but I really like the artwork on the machine.

My Meteor from back in the day:

I really enjoy my Catacomb. Challenging game.

I had a Galaxy as well as a Seawitch and couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Nugent sounds like crap but a fun game. I would like to add a Lightning but out of room.

never played that one, but i LOVE the primitive speech.......sounds like my F2K. man, i miss that pin sometimes. and whatever-the-hell is going on in the way of backglass mini-games looks cool as shit!!! :)

Stars is only bad if you compare it to later games. It is basically an EM with circuit boards. I thought it surprisingly fun in its simplicity. Wish I didn't have to sell mine as it was in really good shape. Loved the chimes.
Meteor was my first pin. It is fun but too easy IMO. I could roll the scores quite often. The background music was cool and I liked the artwork.
Seawitch is probably my favorite old Stern. I like that some of the shots weren't easy. The sea sound was cool but as someone else said, if you heard it you weren't doing well.

EM with chips would describe any of the first-gen SS pins.

I didn't play a lot of early SS games bitd..... first, I was cheap and the EM games that were still around were still 2 plays for a quarter instead of the new SS ripoff price 1 play/quarter. Second, that was about the time my quarters started going to gas stations and the auto parts store. Didn't have a favorite SS pin - they all sucked, especially the cheesy Stern ones.

I did play a mess of old Stern games at shows and such in more recent times.
Orbitor was interesting for a few minutes. Pinball has one of the coolest backglasses ever.

Galaxy had a spot in the playroom here for 5-6 years before going away last spring. The challenge after a while became setting a new high score without turning over. Hot Hand came home a few months ago. Still working on it. HH could probably have used chimes instead of the cheapo sound card without hurting my feelings any.
