Favorite ATARI Title

I couldn't choose one...

In no particular order:

Centipede
Indiana Jones
Pole Position

The common denominator is all have sick awesome sound effects IMO

Agreed.

That's the best thing about Paperboy. IMHO. If it isn't the greatest original soundtrack to a classic arcade game, it's close.

Yup. If I expanded to a top 5, Paperboy would be in there for sure and I don't know what the 5th would be...PP2 maybe lol.

1. Tempest- This game takes me back to the early days of arcades when the vector games were at their peak. I think everyone gets a little nervous when you complete a later stage and are about to go through because you want to make sure you don't hit a spike. The sounds and the simple yet brilliant color vector graphics are what make this my favorite.

2. Millipede- I have to go with the opposite of the Phetty one and say that at first I only like Centipede until this game won me over. All I played in the arcades was Centipede because Millipede would kill me in under a minute. Once I bought my Millipede and played both I find Centipede rather boring now.

+1 ...same two votes for the same two reasons.

You are ALL wrong! :-D

Atari (X&O) Football!!! Cannot walk by that when with a friend.

When I was a kid though, I think that I had dreams about Asteroids after it first came out for months. Couldn't stop thinking about it. The only game that had that similar effect on me as an adult was Tetris. Day dreaming about floating pieces...!

There are just to many, I am a huge Atari fan.
But tops would be

Pole Position
Red Baron
Battlezone
Tempest
Centipede
Star Wars

I know the haters will get on me about the PP, but a working one, which I have, is just a blast to play. It even has an ending.... Not sure how many have ever seen it.

my vote is for CRYSTAL CASTLES....

amazing artwork, fun gameplay, really cool music and sounds, and a light up trackball for gods sake.

the game gets real difficult in the later levels too. def great replay value.

just one question..... what were the designers smokin when they made this game? a bear who collects gems, hangin out in a forest, traversing through various castles, escaping witches and walking trees. i like it!!!

+1 for me, as most of you know.

centipede and Asteroids Deluxe .turn these on the most .A.D. has the orginal board in it, never mondifyed to make it easier so its really challegning. have two centipedes, i play the full size and my son plays the cabret right next to me.

Red Baron is a fun game too! I'm lucky enough to have the cockpit version and I know someone that has or had the upright version.

This and nothing else is close for me.

Wow, what a tough question... of the games we own I'll have to go with...

a tie between Red Baron and Battlezone. I still can't believe we own a RB. :crazy_pilot:(Does anyone else get giddy when they play any of their games?) :)

  1. Star Wars - Upright is nice, and I'd love to lay my hands on a cockpit version at some point (if the wife will let it into the house). Given that I was a huge fan of the original Star Wars movie, this is slam dunk.
  2. Tempest - Maybe it is my heavy math background (yeah, I'm a math nerd), but something about a game that has a ton of geometric shapes in it is really fun. Simple premise, fun to play, hard to master.
