Theres this Star Wars arcade machine one ebay, cheap at the moment but I am worried that if I buy it it will be hard to fix.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAR-WARS...ps=63&clkid=1806686193860634231&_qi=RTM742988

Discription says:

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade Game

50" screen deluxe version

PLEASE NOTE THIS MACHINE IS FOR SPARES OR REPAIR ONLY. IT RUNS FOR A WHILE ON START UP THEN BLOWS FUSES. IT IS VERY DIRTY INSIDE AND NEEDS SOME COSMETIC TOUCHES ON THE OUTSIDE BUT OTHERWISE IS ALL COMPLETE. IT REQUIRES A FULL SERVICE AND RUN UP AND THE FAULT WILL NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RECTIFIED.

I AM UNABLE TO GIVE A GUARANTEE THAT COMPONENTS ARE RUNNING CORRECTLY BUT I SUSPECT ONCE THE FAULTY PART THAT IS BLOWING THE FUSES IS TRACED THE MACHINE WILL RUN OK. SPARES OR REPAIRS ONLY AND ITEM IS NON RETURNABLE. WE DONT HAVE TIME TO STRIP AND FIX IT AT THE MOMENT HENCE THE SALE.

Should I buy?

Hard to say with out messing around with it. Since it's cheap (for now) and on your side of the world, I would probably go four it if I were you. It's a fun game too.

Sounds like the monitor works. Most likely a power supply issue. Possibly a very minor monitor chassis problem. Wouldn't rule out wiring either. Point is though, it's 90%, and that last 10% is usually very easy. If it was local to me, I'd be all over that.

Take the time to verify the condition though. Ask the seller, does the monitor work? Does the game look and sound OK in those first few minutes?

Also, pick it up yourself. RPCRTs tend to magically develop problems when they're shipped.

I had a sitdown version years ago I sold. After they got the machine. It would sometimes shut down on its own. Ended up being the power supply. I dont know if it was blowing fuses though.

Kinda surprised you didn't take the bidding higher. Like you said, oh well

No kidding. For something that new, I would have gone at LEAST a few hundred in if I knew the game booted and the monitor had a good picture.
