I've recently installed a Tokyo Drift (Raw Thrills) Conversion Kit into an old Rush 2049 cabinet. This is not the standard cabinet that raw thrills suggests placing this conversion kit into so I had to do some custom wiring. After having connected every last wire to it's corresponding component I turned the game on and everything worked great.. except for the steering motor.

The steering motor provides no resistance when, say, you drive into a wall or just in general steering.

I did some troubleshooting and checked the Audio/Steering board against a known good one as well as putting PC into a second conversion kit I did (which all worked fine), to no avail.

The question I am posing is if there is a way to test the motor to make sure it is good? It puts out voltages when turned from left to right and it lights up the LEDs on the Audio/Steering controller board.. but it doesn't seem to be getting the signal to provide resistance to the steering wheel.

Any assistance would be awesome!

If I remember correctly, somebody about a year ago did one of these to a Rush and put up a website with step-by-step photos of the conversion. The website is gone now along with the information.

I believe the Drift system uses a 30 volt DC motor but the Rush uses a 90 volt DC motor.

The original motor in the Rush 2049 cabinet is a 37V motor. After having spoken with Betson Enterprises about the conversion kit they say that the Motor controller board puts out 40V so this should work perfectly. I just don't know if the motor is good or not and would like to test it.

Betson has put up the instructions for Rush 2049 conversions. There are wire diagrams with pin outs. Not sure if it helps you, but here you go:

A common problem with the force feedback motors is that the carbon motor brushes wear down. The game is old enough to probably need new brushes.
