Fast & Furious Super Bikes won't boot after battery change

Doing a service call on a super bikes game. Was originally showing a "low battery voltage" error. After changing the CR2032 battery it now won't boot at all. The computer gets power but all I can get is "no signal" on the monitor. I have checked and rechecked every connection on this game and have tried 3 different batteries. I have also checked to see if I perhaps knocked a connector or anything else loose from the computer, everything checks out. Any ideas?

When I changed the battery on the one I service a few months ago, I had to push the front panel power switch and the reset switch at the same time. Then it booted up.

I had a Drift do something similar, I had to hook up a keyboard and PC monitor (the arcade monitor won't synch to the BIOS screens) to OK the message from the PC BIOS that it was reset. I also had to change a few BIOS settings. I think the big one was the Parallel port setting.

I just changed the batteries in the 4 we have on route, one of them did this and Ken's trick worked. Not sure if the keyboard had anything to do with it though, ours have keyboards connected and left in the cabinets.

Well I tried holding power and reset, no difference. Also tried removing the video card and hooking into onboard, nothing is working. The computer gets yellow lamps but noting on display. For the record, the game was displaying the bootup screen before the battery change.

Right now I have the computer removed and its here at my house. Can I hook it up to a computer monitor (game is not here) and try to diagnose it here? I'm pretty certain the culprit is in this computer somewhere.

I have this same problem. I changed battery in BIOS and i don't have display from pci card. Ken trick with pushing reset and on/off switch together doesn't work. Any body knows how to repair it.
Second problem is that i have computer dell 740 with the newest software and i don't have voice in the game. Speakers and cables are ok.

If these are computers using ATX power supplies, it's likely a bios setting to wake on power fell back to default ( which would be "off"). This needs to be set to "on". To get it to boot, take a paper clip and jumper pins 14 (green) and 15 (black... Actually, any black position in the harness will do).. This will simulate pushing the power button and turn the motherboard on

If these do not use ATX power supplies, never mind ;)

I described problem in wrong way. Before batery change everything work properly. After batery change i don't have display on pci card, integrated card works ok, but in the pci slot there is no display. When i plug cable ino pci card there is for moment 'no signal' and after that black screen. I try to enable this in bios but this won't help , pci card is good because i tried it in other computer

Hi Guys,

Same problem, basically computer was working, low battery on boot, changed the battery and now, nothing. I can power up, fans, CD, no post, no beeps nothing.

Dell OptiPlex 740. Now, you mentioned reset and power buttons at the same time. This Dell, and I may be missing something, but doesn't have 'reset' button, only a power button. Not on the front panel anyway. Also tried the jumper on password, and rsrt post swap, and battery removal did nothing.

The unit power up when I apply power, so it feels like a bios issue for sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you tell me where this reset button is ? I have an optiplex 740 thanks

Dell Optiplex 740 doesn't have a reset button. There are 4 diagnostic LEDs on the front that show where it's getting stuck in the boot process.

After battery swap, you have to hit F2 during boot and put the BIOS settings back in. Correct settings are in the manual.

See if you can get it to boot outside the cabinet, just have to disconnect the power pass-through and plug the power supply right into the motherboard. Sometimes the extra current draw of the I/O board will drag an old PSU down. If you ever see a flashing amber power light, you'll need a new power supply.

Report back if you can't get it going.

I got it going by resetting the settings in the bios after the battery install. Disabling diskette drive and enabling power when it is powered. Thanks everyone for the help !!
