While I love the pair of San Francisco Rush the Rock's I have, I honestly had no idea this kit even existed. I've been looking/searching on KLOV if anyone has experience with them(specifically upgrading rush cabinets) just to get a feel for how easy/difficult the conversion is. Seems like a mixed bag, with the PC itself being the biggest issue. Does anyone have any recent information on this kit or is anyone selling them still? I would need two. Thanks.

It will probably be more cost effective and much simpler to just sell the two Rush machines and buy the drifts.
I've picked up a dedicated ($200) and a converted (converted from original F&F for $100) that were not working but complete machines for cheap. The computers were the problem on both of those machines and were easy to replace with Dell 740s. Just make sure they have the dongle.

Yeah, you are probably right, however, I liked the idea of keeping all the rush stuff and then having the option to switch back if I ever wanted to.
I'm assuming the "dongle" is what is essential as long as I have the Dell 740's?
Does anything have to be loaded on the Dell itself or just on the dongle? I may have access to a few 740's but then I would need additional hardware components as well as the dongles.

The PC has to have F&F drift software loaded into it, the dongle is basically the "key" to make the software finish loading into the game.
Plus you have to have all of the other auxiliary boards to make the game run.

Why convert Rush to F&F when Rush is the better game?
Back in the day if rush was next to cruis'n usa in the arcade I'd choose cruis'n in a heartbeat. Being fortunate enough to own a pair without ever playing them in the arcade, I love them for the difficulty, hidden shortcuts, car options, courses etc. In my time growing up in the 90s, at least where I lived they were underrated as I can't even remember seeing any at my local arcades. Today my kids and their friends are more into the FnF games so the conversion kit intrigues me. Seems like finding two complete working conversion kits is going be tough.
