Fast and Furious SUPER WEIRD intermittent picture problem!

Ugghhh !

I've never been able to figure out this one. I've gone through lots of Kortek dual focus
chassis with this problem and I've never been able to figure it out. I've done entire
recaps, swapped out all the major components and still the problem exists.

My nearest guess is the large 40-pinish IC502 (on the 2914 chassis) is crapping
out. I've have many problems with these chassis that were solved by replacing this
chip. Unfortunately you can't get the thing any more which is why we just throw
flat screens in our games now.

Just put it at the local techno club. No on e will notice.

You can but if you dont protect is some one might punch it. Thats if the game is being operated. If its just sitting in your house then go for it. Only real problem I'd see that that the LCD is 16:9 or 16:10 and your CRT is 4:3.

That 40 pin chip is an ASIC? How can Kortec not supply them anymore ?

Oh, as to why Kortek wouldn't support this monitor anymore, they dont have too. Not being an American Manufacture means they can drop support whenever they feel like it. Manufactures that are based here in this industry HAD to support their product for a minimum of 5 years (unless they went under).

Grr. Is there a direct drop chassis replacement for the Kortec? I think I read there were one or two but cant find the specific models now.

I might have a brand new chassis in my stuff. I'll try to find it, test it and if it works you can buy it f you want.

I dont know of any drop ins that I'd trust to work more then a week. Theres Wei-ya (I think thats how its spelled) but those are pure garbage. I know some people like them and swear by them but they SUCK, trust me.

I am getting tired of all this garbage QC chinese made shit! It all fails within or less than a year! We have g07 monitors chassis that are fucking 30 years old that are still pimpin games on the street! It is unreal. Even the Hot Stuff claw machines are all shit-tastic chinese made garbage! Failing coils and relays, unbelievable poor quality!

idk if I wanna go with the new chassis gamefixer, is it possible to McGyver an LCD power cord to start up with the game? I figure I can get some plywood from home depot and make an LCD shelf in the cabinet and put a 27 inch lcd in there.

Theres no reason that an LCD wouldnt work with that game. Your first problem is protecting it from the public though (if this game is being operated). If not then have at it. Just make sure the LCD you buy does/has a few things...

#1. Make sure it powers back up on its own when the power cord is yanked while its on.
#2. Make sure its got a VGA input
#3. Make sure it comes back on to the input that it was on when shut down.

I too hate ALL the chinese garbage and cant wait for that country to implode. We've already seen a bunch of jobs return from the hell hole known as India and I'm sure manufacturing will go elsewhere when the rest of the planet gets sick of china's shit.

I go out of my way to not support that shit hole when I can.

BTW, Kortek was built in Korea if that helps any.... :)

Its tough to find a tv thats not made in that dump of a piece of crap country right now.
