I'm getting some info for a friend of a friend. He has a Fast and Furious that looks like the computer is giving the blue screen of death. Can anybody help me with detailed instructions on installing the software on a new computer/ hard drive? I don't have any newer games, so I don't have experience with re-installing the game software on a computer in the cabinet. Thanks for your help.

Mine had hard drive issues. If I remember correctly, I purchased a new hard drive, installed it and then inserted the install discs and it worked. Took a while to install it all but good as new right after. Not sure if new hard drive will solve blue screen of death or not. It was easy, just insert the disc and follow the prompts, I think my version had like 3 or 4 discs so you have to wait around for the screen to tell you to insert the next disc.

Find out what the actual error is. Dell Optiplex PC or Microtel (generic) PC?

BSoD can mean any of a number of things. "Unmountable boot volume": almost certainly need new HDD. Something like "nvdisp": NVIDIA driver crash which could mean the video card has gone bad. Check for swollen electrolytic capacitors on video card and motherboard.

If the video card has been swapped, it needs the drivers set up. Easiest way is to just run the restore discs.

It is a generic message. My company's IT guy was going to look at it. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything special that needed done to install the software. Thanks for the answers.

Generic message? So nothing comes up like "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED"? or "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"?

Usually blue screens with no error message means something is wrong with the software or the computer itself, I've had problems with H2Overdrive doing something like this., also if you need a hard drive replacement, I've got a working F&F hard drive for sale

A windows reinstall fixed it. Thanks though.
