Did you rewire the speakers? If the fighter was wired for stereo then it could cause the sound amp to overheat in the Gauntlet.

I ripped all the JAMMA wiring out. The speakers are rewired via a harnesses I built from the original diagrams. All the wiring is how it was originally in a Gauntlet including the speakers.
I have a set of original wiring I can send to you to test out the problem to see if it is indeed the wiring?

Thanks for the offer but I have access to Danimal219's original machine so I'm covered. So I'm going to replace the two TDA2030 audio amps on the board and see if that rectifies the problem. If not then I'll go back to Danimals and see what the gig is.

So, I replaced the two TDA2030's with two TDA2030H's I got from mouser and that stopped the sound amp board from overheating and my Gauntlet is now gas free. A half a bottle of Beano also helped.
