Fan replacement recommendation needed - Best fan? Quietest fan? Etc.

I seems to me that there is a noticeable difference between "age discoloring" and "got cooked somewhat" discoloring. Especially if the plastic is really brown and brittle. But who knows?

If a game has a stock 120v 100+ CFM fan in the cabinet, I would definitely replace it in-kind. Especially if it is blowing on the PCB, and double especially an I, Robot PCB made from 100% pure Unobtainium.

I would not festoon the inside of a game with fans unless that game is generally known to be a problem child with some component that overheats. I seem to recall people saying that a particular game tends to overheat its amplifone monitor, but I forget which one.

I realize I'm pretty much just amusing myself with the headbox blower gizmo, but it's harmless - instantly removable and operates on its own power cord, so it doesn't degrade the originality of the game in any way, shape or form. Nor does it intrude on the interior volume of the headbox. "First, do no harm."

Welp, I finally got my I, Robot all set up and running. The new fan is sucking air from the base and blowing on the PCB cage, and you can feel air gently blowing out the vent at the top of the monitor box. Looks like the factory set up will git er dun. I don't see any particular need to add a supplementary fan.

But if I did, I would make it draw air out of the top of the game as Andrewb suggested. If a game is running hot, it makes sense to help out the convection cooling by drawing air out of the top of the game. And thus drawing cool air in the bottom. As opposed to blowing air around inside the game.
