The fan on my system 1 cab is pretty loud. It was really dusty/dirty and it did sound better after cleaning. I'm thinking I can make it sound even better with some maintenance. I know many fans have a place to add some 3-in-1 oil, but I don't see that on this guy. After cleaning, I could tell it is a "EG&G Rotron".

Any suggestions?

Just replace it.

+1

If the fan isn't designed to be lubricated then you'll just spend time trying to disassemble and clean/lube it just to have it fail again in a few months. BTDT.

EG&G are sealed bearing fans. Unless you are real careful/lucky you will damage the bearing assembly trying to disassemble it (voice of experience). As said above, replace it and clean the new one periodically.

If you are determined to be cheaper than Channelmanic, use dry graphite lube, use sparingly and don't get any in the electrical parts. It will help for a week (also voice of experience).
