Good morning KLOV-

do any of you know how to (or know someone who does) fix a Famicom Disk System?
I recently bought one, the seller promised it working if I replaced the belt inside, I did so, meticulously following a step-by-step process, and now it just spits out ERROR 22 every time I attempt to use it.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a blog entry about fixing your issue...

http://blog.milkandtang.com/2010/03/fixing-a-famicom-disk-system/

Special things I noted while searching was the phrase....

I would receive an Err.21 or Err.22 message each time I attempted to load the games.

...and then he gave his method of fixing it and then the key phrase...

IT WORKED.

I hope it goes just as well for you. Those FamiCom Disk Systems are very cool.

I had to replace the belt on a FDS a few years back. The only thing I remember is what it says in that blog that NERDtendo posted. Once you have the new belt in place it's a lot of minor adjustments on the spindle, then testing, then another minor adjustment on the spindle, then test, etc etc etc. I remember that I got lucky and it only took me a couple adjustments to get it working right.

I had a whole list of about 6 different resources that I used at one point but I think they were in an email I deleted long ago as I can't find the list anymore.

Thanks to you both, I am going to read that thread...I have done so much adjusting my eyes are going goofy!

We'll report back...
