Fair price for an uright Tron?

$500-$800

depends on condition of the cab

water damage?
does it need new shroud art, inner art, cpo?

has the battery been cut from the power supply board or is it spewing acid all over everything?

A new art package can cost 500$. If this is there than easy 1200-1600.

I was gonna say that's more like it. I know the fetish here on VAPS is to undervalue everything except your own machines but come on, folks... TRON, if in great condition, is worth more and is worth it. A TRON in just top-end condition at 100%, fully restored, can and probably should be in the $2k+ range. And no I'm not selling mine, ever. So mine is worth $infinity. Or zero. Whatever. :)

EDIT: For the original poster... TRON is an incredibly fussy piece of equipment and it does need periodic replacement parts and work. Just know that before you get into it. If you can find one that's at 100% when you first get it, it may be worth the few more bucks up front so that it goes longer before you start encountering the hassles of it. To my mind, just having it upgraded to a switching power supply increases the value of the unit by $100 minimum.

Not sure but I think you are mistakenly calling his machine restored?

He made no such claim.

mgreens point of the $500+ (actually closer to $600) for the art package just means, the original posters, $500-$800 tron needs at least $600 worth of an investment and 50-100 hours of labor to get that $1600-$2k tron.

Good points! This is the kicker, and why collecting is so frustrating at times. People see these prices on ebay and whatnot, and figure their machine is worth that too, or nearly as much. Sweet! Except it needs a new CPO, wood work around the base, new paint & side art.../sigh

Anyhow, more information is needed I think. "Normal wear" is vastly different from one person to the next. I'd also go with the $500-800 range w/o knowing more.

I am putting new Pheonix side art on mine. New joystick installed and in near mint condition. I would sell for $1200 once the $180 side art is installed. My price is kinda based on not wanting to sell it tho.

These have been my observations of the arcade market in and around the Los Angeles area..

I seen tron projects go for 275 to 400 depending on how much damage there is and the condition of the parts it contains.

Really nice ones use to be 1200 but now I see them around the 800 mark.

Middle of nowhere "shitkickerville" Iowa market is different. I will tell the truth I got mine for $550. Most expensive game I have purchased yet.
