I've been wanting to pickup my first Donkey Kong cabinet but I don't feel I know enough about it to shop around. For some reason there doesn't seem to be any activity in the For Sale / Wanted section with Donkey Kong arcades. I've got no idea on what to expect for price on a working vs a parts cabinet.

I found a local dealer that is willing to sell the attached one. From what I can tell it looks fairly clean but again I don't really know what to look for. This one already has the D2Kong chip in it which I planned on doing anyways. In the end I would like to end up with a near original DKong cabinet to hold onto for a long while. Any thought?

wrong joystick, wrong buttons, wrong t-molding, no sideart, needs new cp decal, coin decal, instruction decal, has lockbar holes...

I'd say $400 tops

Looks good, no side art. If it is a game you want and you are not worried about resale value, I would say anything under $500 in general and you would be alright depending on your area. Lots of little things wrong with this one pictured though, so I would say cheaper here. Deals are to be had though, so you should be able to get one cheaper than that.

First, I would research the FS section in these forums to see how much they've sold for. It always depends on location, condition and the seller.

Around these parts, I'm guessing a DK in that condition could fetch around $400.

Things to note off the bat: Wrong t-molding, wrong joystick/buttons, needs side art and probably a new CPO, new decals, lock bar holes need filling, etc.

EDIT: KidVidiot and I are on the same page here which shows you what prices are like in CA I guess.

I recently paid $250 for a complete non-working one in nice shape with no side-art. I was able to get it working without really spending any money, just time. I put on new t-molding, the old stuff was all cracked up and new coin and instruction decals. I agree a working one like that is about $400.
