F/S 1981 Taito Colony 7 in South Carolina

thanks guys for all the emails, but i dont want to put much more time into this game for 150 bucks. If nobody buys it in next couple weeks, im gonna disassemble it to use the cabinet for another project. any and all Colony 7 parts will be available if somebody really needs them. I probably will just hang the painted glass bezel and marquee on the wall cause they look cool!!! Hate to do that to it, but nobody seems to want it. It is all original and rare and in great condition, it even works!! its just not my kind of game, and i would rather use the cab for something im more interested in.

Everybody seems to think its cool, but no cool enough to buy...lol
Honestly, ive never sold a game on this forum anyway, why ruin the streak!

serious people let me know soon, thanks again guys

I would buy it in a heartbeat if you were anywhere close. I can't believe nobody has snatched it up.

I know, right?
I just went down to my garcade, and assessed it, i can use the cabinet for a nintendo cabinet project i wanna do to house my nintendo and use the GO7 monitor and switcher in another game that needs them, so i can basically end up with two working games that i like for destroying it.

I really dont think you guys can get mad at me for destroying it, because i have offered to sell it.

What do you do with something that you dont want, and nobody will buy? Am i just obligated to the arcade community to keep it? lol

Honestly, ive never ever seen another Colony 7 in my 15 plus years of collecting and restoring, even VAPS doesnt have any in the USA i dont think, the VAPS picture is black and white!!!

teaser pics!!!!!!!

I sent a bunch of pics to the database, that will be cool if they use them. There was only a little black and white picture on the database before. I have now "given back"!!!!!!

Does anybody else have one of these, or have seen one? I think Dirtsarcade said he used to have one...anybody else?

Sold!!! Actually im parting it out, a member on here has paid for the guts of it, and im gonna disassemble it tonight. Hate to do it, but its not a game im interested in, and despite all the interest and emails, nobody would actually pay for it. Thanks for all the interest, i plan to use the cabinet for a custom Nintendo cabinet and the monitor for another broke game.
I did send the pictures to the online database for posterity.

thanks guys

Ouch. That really sucks man. Can't say you didn't try though.

yeah, i know, right? Heading down to garcade to conduct the autopsy, and harvesting of organs. Im gonna take lots of pictures of the connections and such at the buyers request, but all the plugs are well labeled.

probably get hate mail, but it is first come, first served, and this has been posted here for sale for MONTHS

Sorry man,
It is done, organs harvested. I really wanted it to go all together, but its been posted for sale for months, and i have had so many emails and phone calls about it, but nobody actually popped on it until today. I will leave it to the buyer to out themself, but i think they will rebuild it, and Colony 7 will rise again.........

This thread closed.......

hopefully Colony 7 saga will continue after the resurrection

Damn.

I thought we had it set up there...

I was just waiting to get a truck.

Damn is right. I also thought we had a trade set up and was trying to make transport arrangements. Lesson learned: move fast and close a good deal.

Wow! I thought their were people here interested in this!

I'm not bashing you or anything DD, BUT that is a very, very, very, very rare game... I'm been in the arcade side of collecting since the late 80's and have been going to arcades since I was a little kid. You wanna know how many Colony 7's I've come across? None!!!!

I backed off it seeing that their were other parties interested and the location..... If I knew someone wanted to just "but the guts", I would've counter their offer with more money.....

ya, it did seem real rare, but alas, nobody seemed to want it, till i posted it at a givaway price i thought...Ive been messin with these games for close to 10 years, and have never sold too much online. This is actually the first sale ive made on KLOV!!, i have had success with Ebay and the Clist. Buyer seems serious about resurrecting it. He said he will document the rebuild on here, so i cant wait to see that. He is not just putting it in acabinet, he is gonna build a whole new cab to house it. Could be very nice. I put the monitor into another project, its alteady up and running. I have plans for the cabinet, may start on it in a couple weeks. As always, ill post the new resto in the restoration forum, hopefully you guys will like what i do, but either way im ruining a 30 year old original cabinet.......blasphemy!!!,
