> rant <

if you dont to see my rant, move along. I just need to type and vent. F-ing A.! F F F F F F. I bought a marquee and CPO for a killer instinct i am refurbing and the seller is a real deadbeat. I am not dropping names, so dont ask.

I paid for this auction on may 1st. it was scheduled to arrive 5/6 - 5/12. The guy didnt even get delivery conformation untill the 11th. I saw zero scans from the usps. for days i waited, no scans at post office. the buyer insisted it had shipped, and was behind due to a death in the family. i did file a dispute on the 19th.

today, the 25th, it arrives. it seems as he was truthfull about the shipping date.

BUT!!!!!! its sub par. the marquee is stretched out 2 inches longer than original size, and the cpo is too small.

FUCK

thanks yall

I know how you feel i recently bought a UMK3 board off ebay, listed as tested working. it worked but had a bad prom, i chose not to leave feedback as they still haven't left it for me, even though i paid immediately and didn't complain when my package arrived 2-3 weeks later than posted in the auction.

Unfortunately your experience seems worse as i fixed my issue even though it cost me an additional 20$ where your's can't be remedied as easily.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I've had a few along the way as well (one having been documented here in this forum). When one of these happens, I usually rant about it for a day or so and then chalk it up to experience and move on. With marquees, if it looks as if it had been modified I ask questions before I bid.

The eBay auction gives measurements as to what it SHOULD be, but the items I received are not so. I pointed this out in my claim. But I don't know if eBay realizes how significant an inch or even a 1/16 of in can be

I've had very little issues in the past getting refunds from Paypal through their dispute process. It takes forever, but I usually get back most, if not all of my money. Just provide them with extensive documentation and pictures of the issues, and they generally roll over.

Case in point, I bought a copy of Spore Galactic Edition from ebay. Was listed as "new" condition. Not LIKE new. Well... CD key had been registered, no shrinkwrap. I was *pissed*. Started the dispute process. The seller never even really put up a fight. Contacted Electronic Arts, who issued me a brand new key. Offered the seller 5$ for the plastic limited edition case he sold me, and he accepted. I got my other 35$ back. Took about a month, all said and done.

Finallly, after countless emails and a few phone calls to eBay. They have sent me an aopology for misinterpreting my case and stated a refund will be sent.

I am still upset that eBay took so long, and they even admit their email system is sub par.

Lessons learned, when eBay gives you a return tag that has both ups and USPS labels on it, use ups. My package is still sitting at the USPS post office waiting to be picked up by ups. A) ups won't go to post office until there is an abundance of packages to receive. B) USPS will not deliver the package to recipient, that is solely ups's job.

Even though eBay only gives you 10 days to complete delivery when returning an item, this system is flawed.

I will post details of who NOT to buy from on eBay once my $$ is returned.
:)

I feel ya man. These craptastic sellers need to get banned or fined. It sucks because out of all of the things I buy from ebay from memorabilia to vintage items. In the 12+ years I've been on ebay, I've only had problems with sellers of this hobby.

had an issue with some Street Fighter marquees I bought for a restoration I was doing.
Had gotten them pretty cheap. Around $2-3 each plus S&H.

Now the problem started when I asked about combined Shipping, and the seller agreed. This however was done after the auction ended. He sends me an invoice and charges me $10 for S&H per Marquee. A week passes because I kept sending him message after message about the combined shipping that he agreed to, and that he needed to send the correct invoice. Nothing....

Figuring Oh well I will cut my loss, I was still getting a good deal I went and paid it anyways.
After that I get the marquees damaged. One had a corner chipped off, and the other had cracks on one side. All due to s___y packing.

1 thin sheet of bubble wrap between the two marquees
2 priority boxes taped together with 1 small strip of tape.

I was heated. So I messaged him about the problem and he agrees to refund me no problem, and I got to keep the marquees and fixed the CE one (you can't even tell it's broken because of the design.) After everything is all said and done. He then tells me that once he finds SF marquees like the one he sold me, he will send them to me free for being so cool about the whole deal. Yeah of course that never happened, and I knew it wasn't going to happen.

Not even two weeks later, he posts up a SFCE marquee for sale.

I won a marquee off eBay recently from a reputable seller, indeed a friend. Two or three weeks go by and nothing. So I emailed him and said he had a guy shipping things for him and would look into it. Another week goes by and I get a "box" in the mail. It was one of those USPS Priority box "clam-shells" that was re-used, still had the old tape on it. NO packing material inside. None! So in transit it had plenty of time to rattle around like a pearl necklace in Elton John's ass. I've never seen a plexi marquee break like that. :( I did get a refund, so all is ok, but I'm beginning to think I'm just not meant to have a nice marquee.

eBay still dropping the ball. 14 days ago I was told I will receive a refund in 7-10 days. No explanation yet, but they are "looking into it"

Man I want my money back :(

Weirdest thing I've been through was winning a cab recently, paying for it, and getting a message a day later telling me the cabinet was really several states away from what had been listed, to the point where I would end up paying at least double what I paid for the cab on gas. Seller refunded and handled it well but I was kind of bummed since it was a good deal on a cab I needed. Oh well.

finally got my money back.. over 90 days from beginning to end. had to call them multiple times and email them NUMEROUS times. they refunded me out of their pocket. my package has been "sitting" at the post office for over 60 days. Ebay said anything and everything that could go wrong with my transaction, did. It was mishandled, but eventudally resolved. I am not fully happy, but I am refunded. i may need to seek counseling.

feel free to track it and we can see if it eventually delivers. Bets anyone.. when do you think it will deliver?

eBay printed the shipping tag and that was the weight they submitted. It's a 4" tube. About 14" long
