I just picked up an F-14 Tomcat. I decided to change all of the bad bulbs. When I started it back up I had no sound. It looks like everything is connected. The hum gets louder when I adjust the volume, so I know the amp is working. Any ideas?

Are some of the sounds controlled by the MPU and some by the sound card? I've got no sounds at all.

A little more info. Went out and tried it this morning and the sounds worked . . . for one game, then they quit. The 6809 CPU on the sound board gets really hot. Is this normal?

Think so? I can adjust the volume of the hum with the volume control and i hear no sound at all with the volume all the way up(except the hum) anyone know which amp it uses?

I've narrowed it down to a poor connection. I just haven't found it yet. My son and I were playing it this morning when the sound quit. He smacked the head on the side and the sound came back. Later I played again and the sound quit. I wiggled every connector in the head and couldn't get the sound back. So I figured it was just a coincidence when my son hit it. Then I smacked it and again the sound returned. Just have to find the culprit now.

I found the problem. It was a bad solder joint on connector 3J6 (Logic power) on the Power Supply board.
