Hey, I am a new owner of a F-14 Tomcat Pinball machine but has an issue. When it is powered up it displays "Adjust Failure" I have replaced the 3 AA Batteries but still no joy, what else could be the problem. I was reading the manual and it said that that error notice could be displayed because of "memory protect circuit" or "improper treatment of game adjustments", both lifted from the manual. I could use a little bit of guidance as I have never worked on one of these machines but willing to learn just needing to be pointed in right direction.

Thanks, Pinball Lover!

Make sure you check your battery holder for corrosion, and hopefully there is no battery acid damage on the board itself. You will want to put in a new battery holder located off to the side somewhere and run wires from the board to your new battery holder so this will not happen again.

The adjust failure message is what comes up when the batteries are dead. If you click the forward black test button inside the coin door twice, click the red button in the middle and click the forward black button twice again, that should take it out of test mode and allow you to play the game normally again. I might be backwards on which black button to click twice as its been a while since I had the F-14, but you should be able to experiment and get it right.

Hope this helps you at least get it playing.

Yeh, wow.
