Hey all,

I just did a cap kit on this EZV 20 including the audio board the picture now looks great but I get no sound. Just buzzing from the speaker.

Any sugestions on what to look for? I pulled the chassis and went over my work and it all seems to be good. Whats next?

Thanks

There are 2 plugs that can be accidentally swapped on the soundboard. I think they are labeled JB and JC. Make sure those are in the right places as it's very common to fry the audio of your boardset if they are backwards. - Barry

This will also fry the sound section on your game boardset

Man that's rough if he messed the sound up on his board. I'll have to make note of that in the furture. Hope that isn't the case.

There are like 2 op amps ICs on the board that could be what gets fried. They are soldered in place and fairly easy to replace and readily stocked at Mouser for like $0.50 each. I had to replace 2 on a board so I have like 20 something left over. I like to order stuff 10+. Just my paranoia....

I recently recapped the monitor in my DK jr., and was having the same issue. It turned out to be the wire pictured was not connected. On my harness it's a brown wire, but my harness has been hacked. It was about a month between the time I pulled the monitor and the time I actually did the cap kit and reinstalled it, so I forgot this wire. Luckily I had some "before" pics to refer to...;)
