Hey all.

I have a Rockola 490 that I got working nicely. I'd like to be able to add an input for an Mp3 player since the Jukebox will be the central sound system for my gameroom.

There is a Mic input plug on the audio box on the inside.

Does anyone know the pinout information for the microphone connector? Looks like it will be my best bet without hacking into any wiring in the cabinet?

Can anyone help? Is there another route I should take?

Thanks!

What does the connector look like on the juke?
You can get adaptors that'll plug into your ipod or any headphone jack.

It's a 9 pin connection. I attached a pic of an amp with the same connection, this is not the amp I have (this one has a 3 pin music input... mine doesn't)

I did find the wiring diagram online:

1 - black-yel (ground)
2 - orn-red
3 - orn-wht
4
5
6
7 - pink-blue (50v d.c.)
8 - yel-blu (squelch)
9

Looks like this is the microphone kit for it:

It's obviously powered with volume control.

My question is, are the orange white and orange red lines left/right input? Would making a plug for this batching the female audio jack to the Orange red/white and ground wires work?

Why yes Jeremy it probably will. Looking at the wiring diagram, the oragne-red/white wires are the speaker wires.

You should give it a shot and post results here!

I think most of the mic inputs were single channel. (mono)
If what you see are the speaker wires, you're looking in the wrong end.

Not looking at any wires, looking at the wiring diagram.

According to the schematic, the orange/red and orange/white wires on the microphone connector go to the left and right speakers respectively.

I'm going to get a molex connector from my local electronics shop (of I can find a match) or some male pins to wire something together. Won't hurt to try... which I am going to do this evening.

UPDATE:

Worked like a charm! Sounds excellent!

There is a bit of noise from the fluorescent bulb, but nothing a little shielded cabling wont cure.

Need to find a nice discreet spot for the 3.5 inch jack.

Woohoo!
