Expanding arcade and I need more games

They didn't read the sign or the notes I taped to the CP. I tried everything.
I agree. I have bright instruction cards on my games that have switchers and NO ONE ever changes the games other than me as far as I'm aware. Do people ever read the instruction cards that the manufacturer put on their games on the cps or bezels? 🤣 If no one reads those, they won't follow hand made instructions for switching games.

Studies have shown that regular players of this game in the 80s cannot walk, run, or drive straight today lol
Thanks for clearing this up. I always wondered what was wrong with me. I had the Inoculation shot 35 years later. It was the most expensive cartridge on the Colecovision system and saved up everything to get it. 55 dollars in 1982? A lot of money to an 11 year old, but I thought it was worth it.

I am still looking for the quaker halfsies Super Zaxxon if anyone has one. (Yeah I am sic)

They didn't read the sign or the notes I taped to the CP. I tried everything. I have never had anybody get stuck or not understand the 60-1 with no instructions. I currently have 3 machines that run on bitkit in single game mode. When they were multigame, middle aged men would power cycle the machine and get into the settings menu and screw with shit. They recognized the menu. We also had to remove the North Star pinball machine because of middle aged men beating on it. The arcade in it's current form isn't getting any complaints and it's running well.
I had the same experience at an arcade in New York. It had 60-in-1 cocktails. They were hard to get to the right game.

I still get stuck in the preview on my own 60 in 1, I hate that. But also agree with Patrick, pressing 1 and 2 player start is only intuitive to some (like those that have already learned)

If you want, you can make a single button on your bitkit cpo labeled hold to change game. Have that button short both 1 and 2 player start. (I forget if bit kit actually offers an extra input specifically for switching games. I think some board switches do).

I ain't drillin' any holes in ma' games.

I would vote linked racers and a shooting game.

If you have time, have the kids report their scores to you and record them in a notebook and when they beat their high score they get candy or something. Or post their high scores so they can reference them and have their own personal best to beat. Its been super effective at our place.

Somene's got a Zaxxon for sale!

I would buy it if it wasn't a 32 hour trip.

That's a great line-up. Other games that will help are: DK, DK Jr, Frogger, Missile Command, Defender (or Stargate), Rygar, Space Invaders, Quartet (or Quartet 2, which is easier to find, fits in a smaller cabinet, and costs less $), Wizard of Wor, Pole Position (or PP II), etc.

You need a good mix of themes, as well as easier to play games, such as Frogger. Drivers seem to be easy for most players.

Scott C.

Scott C is right (as usual). Frogger & Ladybug are easy games for kids and girls love them.

And some game with different experiences: driving racing games, Fire Truck, Sub Hunt (periscope), Space War(s) (to kill each other), Demo Derby, and maybe a moppet!

Lastly, a Snacks'n Jackson to give them nightmares :)

My wife and I own this decent size art supply store that has an arcade and my wife does a lot of art with kids.

We charge $2 and let people play the games as long as they want. The 13 game arcade is in a small room off to the side. There is also a conference room we were going to use for yarn clubs and adult classes. Nobody is interested in renting the room or doing any kind of club. We encouraged people to buy stuff in our store in exchange for using the room for free. For whatever reason people that buy stuff from our store are not interested in clubs or renting the room, but people that buy stuff online and big box stores want to use the room for free. Fucking people... We are wasting a lot of space letting this big room sit, so it's the new arcade. We currently have:

Gorf mini, Burgertime, Pacman, Tempest, Galaga, Eagle, Sinistar, Ms Pacman 60-1, Asteroids, Space Invaders Deluxe, Bosconian, Centipede, Muli-Williams, Tron (current project).

I'm giving kids a chance to experience arcade games like we did when we were kids. There isn't any place kids can play classic arcade games in this area other than bars. It's my belief this is the best way to keep this hobby going in the future.

I'm looking for some more games reasonably close to Waupaca Wisconsin to grow the arcade. I'm willing to take on projects.
Are you willing to come to Ohio with a box truck and take on some projects and working games?

someone already mentioned it, but driving games, especially linked sitdown racers, ala Cruis'ns, Drifts, etc
kids love that shit. (when i had a pair) easily #1 most played games in my basement

Very true. My SF Rush the Rock linked pair is probably the most played video game (megatouch competes for #1 since you're sitting on a comfy couch).

Yeah, kids love to drive because it's an exciting new frontier for them. Us old farts are already sick of driving. :D
