Exidy Opto PCB Repair or Replacement

If you want to sell a crossbow let me know.
But to resolve your issue I was successful with using a Red Happ 45 Cal. Optical Arcade Game Gun. They also sell the optical kits. Works perfectly.
Hope that gets you closer.

No, I need all three guns, but since none of them are registering hits on either of the two machines I currently have working, I'm just wondering what the hell is going on. One of these Opto PCB's had the sensor glued to the PCB but not soldered, one had it soldered with no glue, and one had both glue and solder. One also had the molex connector and inline header removed and had the wires direct soldered to the PCB. I undid that and installed the correct header and connector. It was working before I started the restoration, now it is not. But then neither are the other two I have which were not altered by me. So there must be something wrong with both monitors? The lighting? The mirror? I have no freaking idea which is why I started this thread. And after all this time, I'm no closer to a solution.

No problem on the gun. But I recently had your situation. The gun was fine but then I started adjusting the monitor pos and sync. The the hits would make a sound but not actually register in the game. So maybe check that. But it's three wires on the gun so maybe just give it voltage and measure if there is a response on the output.

Has anyone solved this issue? I have the exact same problem. Cheyenne cab and gun. Works fine with a Happ gun but I cannot get the gun cursor on the optical adjustment screen in the diagnostic menu. I either replaced or checked all the components on the opto board and everything is fine. I have swapped out the opto as well with no change. I have 12 volts going to the board and checked continuity from the gun to the board.

Nope, haven't messed with it since my last post on this thread. Had three other machines to work on. I need to really start figuring this out though as this game needs to head out of my garage soon.

You're in Tempe? There's a local repair party happening this Sat. in Chandler, unfortunately I'll be out of town but @Arcadenut and @BigDogs will both be there. If you are using a Happ gun I'm assuming you are using one of my FPGA boards since the original gun works on 12V not 5V?
