Exidy monitor optics

noone? come on Exidy shooter gurus??? lol

opting to buy an Exidy that has shooting problems and wanna know how tough they are to fix and/or are they impossible to get sensors?

thanks in advance!

ok thanks i will check that....i cant get it to sync 1st!

can someone tell me how colored wires go...and maybe a pick of pcb inside machine? that small interface pcb isn't even hooked up to main cpu. i think the video plug is not correctly plugged in correct spot.

can't seem to find manual online.....

what game are you trying to fix? Knowing this info might help others help you out better

sorry....Cheyenne! though i said that earlier but guess just said Exidy.

someone has played with this it looks like but the guy told me that it just wouldn't shoot. i think the wiring is incorrect cause after replacing switcher, i can here game in attract mode!

so it sounds like you are saying your cheyenne has attract mode sound but no picture. Is this correct?

correct....i can hear play but no video! i have a known working monitor available but need to know what plugs where(as far as on interface-small pcb, cpu, and then going to monitor)!

i'm trying to assume that all monitor wiring is incorrect since i don't know prior tech on game!!!

at the moment I'm not near my machine to get you pics or exact details. I believe the manual does have this info. Although you may need to look at the schematic to get it. I'm not sure there is a page that directly tells you the board pin outs.www.crazykong.com has the manual pdf. May also list the pin out. Not sure.

did you find the answer or are you still in need of pics?

nada....i believe it doesn't need the interface pcb but not sure! it looks like all connectors could plug in that then plug into main cpu and sound pcb but connectors are not going though interface pcb at all on mine.....guess that's ok???

all i get is red screen if turn brightness up! reflowed video header pins, no change!

the interface board is just a filter board so it's not needed. You say you are getting a red screen. Are you still hearing game sounds?

i get a read screen! i do here start up "MOOO" but only if i set switcher to like 5.4v. anything under that, nothing. i need to verify but i believe that at chips is like 3.1v, which is probably enough to make some work i'm guessing! 5v on power plug going into pcb is correct. 17v doesn't seem to stay constant but i do read that quickly on plug...not sure why unless it's AC instead of DC?

5v is dropping on pcb i think...someone have an idea where to look?

From what I have heard, it sounds like your monitor is working properly. You need to start at the power supply and Trans assy: and make sure they are putting out the correct voltages first.

Unload the switcher (disconnect power from the board) and make sure you have the correct voltages coming out of the switcher. Do you have a schematic or manual for the machine?

i did exactly that...disconnected from pcb and measured voltage outa switcher! that's why i said i have to bump up to 5.4 to get any sound at all! the prior switcher was set that high by someone else also. should the 17v AC or DC and why would it jump on my DMM?

is there something on the pcb that would drop voltage from power plug to chips?

Something is loading down your switcher (board problem), or the swither is bad under a load. You must have the original power supply if you are getting what should be +,-17Vdc. I can't attach the manual because it is to large. If you pm me I can forward it to you via email.

i had a broken trace in the video section that i could barely see because someone already hacked with the transistor!

still have no gun though
