Exidy hard hat

i've seen roms for it but that's it. never seen any piece of a cabinet for one.

Ive seen only 1 Hardhat on ebay, that was like 5 years ago.. It was in the same cabinet as PEPPER II / VENTURE.

I might have pix on one of my old HDs

Anyone got one of these boards for sale? Or a complete game? That would be cool too.

I wish I could remember who owned the Hard Hat I played at CAX circa 1997. I'm sure one of the local guys on here would remember (jkoolpe, mrbill2084).

I've talked to jkoolpe and he does know who did own it at one time. Apparently it was at CAX in 98 as well as 97. A few months after the 98 show it was sold on ebay. I believe Jon is checking to see if the original owner knows who he sold it to. Not giving up on this one. I will track down something. Heck if anyone out there even has some pics of the game that are different from the flyer that would be cool. Maybe someone has some pics of the game form CAX 97 or 98? Jon Exidy also mentioned in a PM that there was video of Nolan Bushnell at an arcade trade show from BITD. I guess Nolan is playing Exidy games in the clip and in the back ground there is a row of Hard Hats. If anyone has some free time to search for this video that would be cool. I will be searching for it myself in my free time.

Cool! Best of luck tracking it down!

I do suspect it ran on the same hardware as Venture/Mousetrap. I think some of the sound effects were the same as Venture.

I'm not too familiar with venture but Based on the video on you tube of the MAME version of hard hat, some of the sounds and music are identical to those in pepper II. The top score initial entry screen is also almost identical to pepper II. I believe it's very likely they do run on the same hardware. Unfortunately I don't know enough on my own to determine this.

I've been searching for the video clip Jon Exidy mentioned of Nolan Bushnell playing Exidy games with the row of Hard Hats in the back ground. This statement with dead links seems to point to where that clip appeared.

Exidy Vertigo clip in the TV show 'Game On'

Some links also said CNBC. There seems to have been a special on the history of video games (I think I saw this) on NBC around 07. Some other mentions point to a weekly show about arcade games called game on. Not sure which I'm looking for but I tend to think it would be the one on the history of video games. If anyone knows where I might find this video please let me know.

bump! still looking for anything related to this game. Am I gonna have to start offering a finders fee for info leading to the purchase of this game or any of it's parts/or manual? I may consider doing so.

Still looking for any part from this game at all. A manual anything. Even more info about the game than I already have may be useful.

I figured I'd ad these pics for inspiration.

bump... still looking for anything at all. Anyone know the guy who programmed the game? IS he still alive? maybe he has a schematic for the game tucked away somewhere.
