I give you Crackshot on CRACK!
If you have worked on an Exidy shooter you know it can be maddening getting these suckers running 100%.
If its not the boards, NVRAM, bars of death, sound, scrambled screen or the gun just doesn't want to cooperate (screen flashing, registering, etc) its voltage, bad luck or?…. its always something.

I want to say thanks to Troy (Takeman) for making my NOS bezel look WAY better
and to Kalan for a WORKING board set.

This thing was basically firewood when i got it.

Built brand new black melamine cabinet
Cleanup/restored inside guts: power supply, wire harness, PCB, etc.
Stripped and powder coated CP, bolts, brackets, speaker mesh
Stripped and powder coated gun parts (BK-1 texture)
Rebuilt the gun components, optics, etc.
Coin Doors are new HAPP doors, the doors that came on my Exidy cabs were rusted and trashed.
(and being my first restorations i didn't have any experience with coin doors yet)
Custom Exidy logo inserts and LEDs
New glass mirror (replaced plexiglass)
New T-molding
New Locks
New Vinyl Casters
New Power Cord
New Speakers
New Marquee Light Fixture/Bulb
NOS Marquee
NOS Bezel
Repro control panel overlay
New Buttons
NOS side art, had a bunch so i went crazy with it (wanted a bullet riddled tommy gun effect)
New hand-cut matte board monitor bezel, side, top, etc.
NOS 19' Monitor - can't remember what brand at the moment
New coin door decal, (painstakingly redrawn exact exidy logo in illustrator and printed on vinyl)

Wow Dan. Brand new. Very nice. And thanks for the pics of the Power supply hook up - i just got a crossbow and installed one - nice to compare how it was done.

Enjoy it.

Thanks for all the pos responses, to answer a few questions.

No, i thought i had some before pix but i can't seem to find them.

Yes, my buddy and i rip apart the old cabinets and use them as templates to build new cabinets. I find its just as much work and $ to build a new one as it is to sand, bondo, paint, etc. and the results are a strong, nice looking and smelling - showroom perfect cabinet.

Jon, right now i'm only remaking parts for my own machines (time limitations) some times i make more if its a printed piece.

UMMMMM, I shead a tear for this, what a beautiful cab for an absolutely rewarding title, people play Crackshot on my muti-exidy 2-1 over the others, and I cant say enough about the job you have done...nice work Dan, truly nice..:D

Wow! Your restorations are amazing. Beautiful work and the attention to detail is unmatched. Your cabs are some of the finest examples of these games that I have ever seen. Well done, sir, well done! The purist in me wants to have an issue with the replacement cabinets, but your end results are so breathtaking (both inside and out) that those concerns go out the window. ;) Your photos are fantastic as well, very nicely shot. I love the close up pics of the control panels. Looks like klov has a new top dog when it comes to restore threads...

I'm curious about how you would handle a Zoo Keeper restore... If you built a new cabinet, how would you handle the side art? Have stencils custom made, or would you go with full side art, similar to late run Ms. Pac's?

Again, bravo to you. Brilliant work! Now go have a beer (or three)...

Thanks for the very kind words :)

I'm currently restoring a zookeeper. I'm building a brand new cabinet and i'm applying new side art. I have heard that the stencils for ZK are so detailed that its a nightmare to do. And I believe it, because i'm in the midst of doing 3 other regular Taito cabs with stencils and they are no picnic.

I didn't know later run ms pacs had side art, are you referring to the original 80's machines or the reunion version?
