Just installed my exidy multi into my Who Dunit. It starts up as it should. I get the scream and when I pull the trigger the title screen switches to the game select menu. However the gun will not fire to select the game and the start button doesn't work.

I haven't spent any time looking at the schematics yet... just figured I would drop a line to see if anyone else experienced something similar. I realize I could be dealing with a coincidental failure...

Darn... I was hopin' for some pointers from folks that have dealt with Exidys.

FWIW I double checked all my supply voltages... all are right on.

I don't have any real time to mess with it now anyhoo ...

Wish I could help out. Getting ready to install a multi-kit myself. I hope it goes smoothly. Good luck man. I hope someone else chimes in for ya!

I've never dealt with multis, but let's see if I can get your analytical juices flowing.

You HAVE coined it up right? It may go to the menu but not accept a selection until it has sufficient credits.

Is there a test mode? Check that the gun is tracking correctly and that it is sensing the start button, if you can.

Exidy multi is a wee different than your typical multi...

Starts up, splash screen pull trigger then goes into game select mode.

At this point pressing the start button is supposed to cycle the highlighted game title from the list and the shooting of the gun is supposed to take you into the game you have selected.

Can't cycle with the start button and can't select by trigger...so neither of those work.... :(

However, when I power up with the start button pressed, it does go into diagnostics... so the button is registering just not in the game select menu. Also in diagnostics I confirmed all of the coin switches work... so it's no completely dead... it appears as if the kit is locked up.

I have a crossbow cab, and have both a crossbow pcb and a crossbow pcb with the exidy multi kit installed. I didn't run into any issues installing my kit, but if you would like measurements from either board, I'd be happy to do that.
