Exidy Circus vs Midway Clowns

Clowns for sure. I even like the cab better than Circus.

Clowns CT is awesome. I'd have kept mine, but somebody offered a working Star Wars in trade, so...
That was 25 years ago and I don't believe I've seen another one in person, just URs.
This whole post makes me a little sad.

Sad clowns and sad (drugged?) penguins on roller skates on the Circus bezel make me happy.
I can't explain it. It just does. I love that game!

Would anyone happen to have a Clowns bezel available, I am happy to say that I am in the need of one......

By 'look identical' I assume you mean gameplay, as the cabinets don't really look anything alike. I like Circus because it's an Exidy game and because of the way the bezel is three dimensional and each balloon lights up. Unfortunately I haven't even been able to play mine yet as after finally getting my board set back from repair, I seem to now have a power supply issue. I picked mine up almost 2 years ago nonworking but I'm determined to get it working and keep it.

I have a spare one that I'm not too keen on selling but I would listen to an offer...PM Me. Its only spare I've seen in many years of collecting..luckily I have both Clowns upright and Circus upright...

I finally got a Circus a while back. Side art has been painted black and is ripped underneath, but the game works aside from both start buttons being bad. Will be in the project queue for a while but happy to finally have one

Just wanted to update this thread with a couple other versions of this most excellent game.
The game was designed by Howell Ivy at Exidy, and they licensed it to Midway, Taito and Sega. I learned this from the excellent TDE podcast where they interview Howell Ivy, the programmer of Exidy and Ramtek fame. EP 24. I can not think of any other game that was licensed to 4 different (major) manufacturers.

Wow very cool didn't know about the other two variations of the games...I thought by owning Exidy and Bally Midway I had both versions...Anyone ever actually see a surviving cab of these See Saw TV or Acrobat

I would guess neither were released in the US.
Looking at the flyers, I would assume Acrobat was released in Japan. Seesaw Jump being in English, perhaps it was a UK release. Also seesaw, that's what they like to call a "teeter totter" anyway.

Perhaps @aeroflott saw one or both in the wild.

@Phetishboy I just noticed yours has a dial instead of a knob. Was your other Circus like that as well? Mine has a knob, and I think my buttons are unlike either of your assorted styles.

Wow. I was so focused on the forest that I missed the tree in the middle.
It should be a knob. Although Exidy likely used what ever was on the parts shelf.

Mine is a smooth, slightly tapered, rounded, aluminum knob beastie. It's original as far as I can tell. It's very old and well loved. The pot was certainly original and only had one set of set screw indents on the shaft. So the know had never ben removed. I replace the pot eventually. But kept the knob. The closest picture I can find online is this plastic knob from a Pong. (That's the wrong one for Pong, BTW. Very wrong.)

I had an old radio knob on my other one.

Those buttons look right. And the knob could be correct also. Every flyer and manual I could find it looks like a black knob. But I didn't see any that showed the top of the knob clearly.

But yeah, I think that is a 100% stock control panel.
