Hi,
Got my multi-Cheyenne working but for some reason some of the sounds don't work. I just get a digital squeal over the speakers where a sound should be. Particularly the scream from chiller in the menu. Most games have full sound though with just a few sounds not working. Have been talking with Mike Doyle and we've just about rules out the multi and were both looking at the Cheyenne board now. I know a few of you guys said you work on exidy boards. Any ideas what it could be? Mike thinks there might be a dead channel on the board but he's not sure as its been a long time since he worked on them. Can someone verify if there's more that one sound channel? and if so what might need to be replaced to get it going again?

I have a multi-Exidy that I installed on a Combat board. I also have a minor sound issue--namely that a few of the sounds in Crossbow are at very low volume. I seem to recall someone else mentioning this about the multi kit, but it may have been specific to instances where the kit is installed on Combat boards. This seems odd to me, since from what I have read, the multi system was developed and tested on a Combat board.

I haven't started in on troubleshooting it yet, but I will at some point.

Sometimes the Crossbow "You will die!" is low in volume but my main concern is some of the sounds in Cheyenne, like the barrel in the saloon stage just emit a digital hum sound (nothing horribly) bud definitely audible. The most noticeable is the scream from Chiller in the menu, it does the same. Some of the other games also give this hum.

I have a video of it, I had to shot it upsidedown so the mic would be facing the speakers.
You can hear it between the trigger clicks if you turn up your speakers.

Hi;
Did you ever find a resolution to your sound issue?

I have a similar problem with missing sounds and very low ones as well.

Thanks
Jeff

Be sure your voltage to the chips on the sound board and cpu are good. Sometimes the connections become weak and the voltage can drop which could cause sound issues.

I will check the voltage to the daughter sound board to verify that it is receiving the proper voltages, just to be sure.

Thanks
Jeff
