Never worked on an Exidy 440 game (Chiller, Crossbow, Cheyenne, etc.) before. Never even looked inside one before. I notice at the top of the main 440 boardset is another filter type board, about 1" tall and 15" wide. Is that truely just a filter board that's not really needed, and can be bypassed by connecting the main wiring harness directly to the 440 boardset?
Having never seen the inside of one before, in the past week now, I've seen 4. All 4 had switching power supplies installed. It looks like there was some type of small board mounted on the transformer brick, but it's not there now. Did Exidy 440 games come as original stock with a switcher? I'm guessing not, but in the 4 games I've seen, I haven't seen any type of linear power supply board. If it didn't have a switcher, can anyone post a pic of how it looked originally? If there was a linear power supply, can you post a good picture of that board? Thanks,
